Chapter 23- Hayden

It was great seeing that we were all getting along. The principal even realized it. So he finally agreed this morning to let us all graduate on time. It was exciting. But what melted my heart even more was that Sapphire and my sisters were forming a bond that I would never have with them. The girls decided to take Sapphire out for her birthday (because when I guess your an adult you got some celebrating to do). While they were out after school at the mall (which would be a sight to see Sapphire in), I started getting everything ready for tonight. I wanted this birthday to be the best one she has ever had in her life, and I wanted to spend the whole night with her without a worry in the world. I thought for the longest time about getting us a hotel but then decided against it. That didn't seem her style. So instead I chose to go camping for the night. I told my parents about it and they agreed. Alright, I left out the part that it was just Sapphire and I going and that we would share a tent, but they bought it. I'll take it.

Sapphire and my sisters came back around seven in the evening. My sisters had bags from multiple like vanity, and Hollister, and god forbid Victoria Secret while Sapphire only had the one from Hot Topic. I find that to historical. Leave it to Sapphire to only buy stuff from the punk store.

I walked up to her and embraced her in a hug.

"What did you get me," I teased into her ear.

Her breath speed up at my comment and a cute blush creep onto her face.

"What makes you think its for you," she played back.

Oh game on Miss beast.

"Because anything thats on you is a gift for me."

She hummed with approval than showed me what was in the bag.

Ok black skinny jeans, a muscle tank or two, black combat boots and..... Oh. My. God.

My tounge was rolling when I saw the red and black lingere staring back at me in the face. She had to have gotten that just for me. Surely.

I looked up at her and informed her to wear that tonight.

"Where are we going?"

"You'll see. Its a surprise."

She rolled her eyes at me and asked what the dress code was.

"Something you don't mind getting dirty."

At the mention of casual her eyes twinkled with amusement.

" I like it already."

Twenty minutes later we were pulling up into Springbrook and Sapphire's eyes began to water.

" Baby what's wrong?" I feel like a complete ass. Leave it to me to be the one person to make their girlfriend cry on her birthday.

She wiped her eyes then looked over at me with not sadness but joy.

"Nothing. These are happy tears," she explained, "I always wanted to go camping on my birthday but my dad never took me like he said he would and my friends were always busy. I just can't believe you knew."

She smiled that smile that was only reserved for me and flung into my arms.

"Thank you," she breathlessly whispered in my ear, " Thank you so much."

How I hated this girl for years is beyond me. I misjudged her. Big time. I think everyone besides her close friends have.

"You're more than welcome."

I kissed her hair and suggested we go set the tent up.

When we found a spot Saph was looking for all the parts to ensemble it together.
