Urbosa's POV

"Zelda," I started, watching as she stepped into the cool water of the spring and waded over to the goddess statue in the center. "I don't want you to feel pressured about this." She stayed quiet as she sat down, and I leaned against one of the pillars and sighed.

"But what about my duty? Dad says it's important." She finally said after a bit, turning her head back to look at me.

"I understand that, and it is, he's right, but Zelda you're still only a child. I need you to understand that it's not good for you to be stressing yourself out about something like this." I explained to her, but she only looked back at the statue and shook her head.

"But dad said-"

"I don't care what your father said," I snapped, cutting her off. "You don't have to worry about all of this now. Your father is stressed and upset himself now, and he has no right taking that out on you. Zelda, you're going to unleash your power when you feel ready enough."

She was silent after this, and I decided to let her have peace and quiet while she sat before the statue praying. All I could do was stand there and play a support role for her. I wish I could do more to help her.

Looking at her sitting there, I could remember when Amirah allowed me to accompany her on one of her trips. She was just a little older. It was not too long before she unleashed her power for the first time, and then she was quick to begin trying to master it.

Zelda's just as determined as her mother is, and I'm honored to be able to support another hero in her journey. I'm hoping now that we've taken care of Astor, and looking at the fact that Sooga and Kohga aren't as terrible a threat anymore, Zelda will be safe and capable of protecting herself.

And though I know being capable doesn't always promise safety, I want to know she'll be able to face the enemies that are currently posing threats against Hyrule, she'll be alright. I mean, she fought even at _____'s wedding, so if that doesn't prove early strength than I don't know what does.

"Zelda, it's getting awfully late. We should head home soon." She didn't answer this, continuing to pray in the now freezing water. "Zelda." She didn't answer me this time either, so I snapped my fingers, sending lightning down towards the door. She yelped and turned around, only now realizing it was me that did that.

"Don't do that Urbosa! It scared me!" She yelled, and then went back to what she was doing.

"We need to go. It's getting late and cold. You are going to freeze to death in that water." She huffed and stayed silent, and I walked closer to edge and sighed. "Listen, I need you to stop taking from what your father says and hear me for once. You have time for this. You don't need to rush it all at once, and it's okay if you don't get it yet because-"

"But what about mom?! Wouldn't she be disappointed?!" She yelled, and I stopped. She shot me one last glance before slumping lower into the fountain and then all I could hear was soft sobbing from her.

"Zelda!" I exclaimed, but she only continued to cry. I threw off my shoes and set my crown down with them before running into the water. I sat down next to her and placed my hand on her back. "Zelda, don't you say that. Ever." She fell into my arms and I hugged her tightly, letting her sob now into my chest. "Your mother would be so proud of you. She didn't even unleash her power until she was in her teens already, so you have time." I started petting her head, and her sobs never slowed or faltered. "She'd admire your determination, as do I."

"You really think so?" She looked up, tears streaming down her cheeks. I wiped some of them away and nodded.

"I don't think so, I know so." She smiled and hugged me again, lifting herself up enough so she could rest her chin on my shoulder. "How about we head back? We can stop for food on the way and then you can rest." Zelda nodded with a giggle and I helped her out of the water and we got ready to go back.

Turns out when we got back, Rhoam was coronated as King again, and he immediately thanked me and took Zelda upstairs to get her to bed. I hoped what I said would be enough.

It didn't take long for Rhoam to basically erase everything I told her, and she was right back to believing her only worth was defined by the age she unleashed the triforce and learned her power.

I wanted to help her, but with the way Rhoam was, it was going to be tricky, I knew that much now.
