Komori woke up as he felt someone shaking him awake. He blinked multiple times to clear his vision. When he could properly see, he looked over to see that Suna had a grip on his shoulder, shaking him. He shrugged his shoulder out of his grip and stretched as much as he could in a cramped bus seat.
"Where are we...?" He muttered under his breath, not fully awake yet. He rubbed his eye and looked back at the window and saw other restaurants flying past.
"We're almost there. I just wanted to make sure you were awake when we arrived."
"Thanks, Rin." He cracked his neck which was stiff from falling asleep in such an awkward position. Komori made a mental note to buy a neck pillow the next time they went on a long drive like this.
"Y'know Mori?" He perked up at the sound of the nickname that was often used by Suna. "Only you would be crazy enough to fall asleep with your neck at an angle like that." He pulled out his phone and showed Komori a picture. The position he managed to sleep in looked like it would've been extremely painful if he was aware during it. He slapped Suna on his shoulder for the second time that night as they pulled into the parking lot of the place they were going to eat at.
"We're supposed to stick together right?" Komori whispered to Suna as they all started to get off the bus.
"Yeah. So someone doesn't get kidnapped or whatever." Suna just shrugged as they walked into the building.
Once they sat down, everyone just talked a bit. Since they were all on the verge of passing out, the topics of the conversations never lasted more than a few minutes. The cloudy haze on their tired brains even made reading the menus harder than it should've been for high schoolers. Sakusa didn't even want to enter because it "looked dirty", but Atsumu and Komori managed to get him into the restaurant somehow. They got 2 large tables for all the students to sit at while their coaches sat at a smaller table right next to theirs.
They had already ordered their food and Suna was chatting with Aran, who was sitting across from him when Ginjima tapped him on the shoulder. He turned to his friend who waved at him to come closer. When he leaned over, Ginjima whispered into his ear.
"How did you manage to sit next to your crush all night?"
Suna gave Ginjima the dirtiest side-eye. It came easy to him since he always had a resting bitch face anyways. He knew he would eventually regret telling Ginjima certain things, but they were still friends so he never thought much of it at the time.
"What? I just wanted to know!" Ginjima said as he laughed before turning back to Akagi.
It went practically silent as they all ate their food. There were small conversations here and there but nothing was note-worthy. A couple of people laid their heads down on the table once they were done eating, seeing as they were still tired from the match and it was also late at night. Once they were all done, it was almost midnight. They all got back onto the bus and waited as their coaches contacted all of their parents. Slowly but surely they finally made it through the entire list. They ended up deciding to stay at the nearest hotel since it was a nice ride away from Inarizaki High.
"I didn't think this would turn into a fully away match!" Atsumu called out from the near back of the bus, causing Osamu who was sitting across from him to smack him on the head.
"Things don't always go as planned," Iizuna called back.
"Thank you Iizuna," Kita said, exasperated.
The bus went silent as everyone slowly fell asleep. It was past midnight by the time they reached the hotel. Everyone groaned as they woke up to loud clapping made by Kita.
