Morning came and went and it was spent with every available hand cleaning up after the earthquake. It didn't take too long as they only needed to clear out the spaces they used, like the surrounding forest where their roads and paths ran towards their crops and such. One smokehouse was taken out by a fallen tree but beyond that, nothing to negatively impact the village.
In the early afternoon Druig departed on boats with a group of men, one of which being Nita's father. They didn't go on those excursions often, maybe once every couple months where they'd be gone for no more than a couple days. When they returned, they'd have boats full of supplies like weapons, tools, clothing, anything that they needed to survive that they couldn't supply themselves. Nobody knew where the supplies came from and nobody bothered to question it, so long as they had them, everyone was content. However, Nita had an idea that solely concentrated on Druig's powers.
That evening while Nita, her sister and her mother were sitting around the communal fire pit cooking up dinner, Andres appeared from the shadows, taking a seat next to Nita. Evita tensed slightly while her mother narrowed her eyes at him.
"How are we all doing after yesterday?" He asked her mother and sister.
"Very well, thank you. A miracle from God nothing was damaged and no lives were taken," her mother responded, focusing on the fish frying on the pan.
Nita suppresses a laugh at the mention of God to Andres who no longer believed in the man above after his parents were killed in a fire that took out half the village fifteen years ago, leaving him in the care of his brother and his now deceased grandmother.
"A miracle from God it is," he said, extending his arms to the sky, the sarcasm only Nita picked up on.
"Would it be all right if I stole Nita away for a little bit?" He asked, smiling down at his friend. Nita looked over at her mother whose dark eyes bore into him. If looks could kill, Andres would have dropped dead right then and there.
"I'll be back to help clean up, I promise," Nita said to her mother, handing the bowl of leaves she was washing to her sister and jumping up after Andres before her mother could protest. She heard her name being called out once as they ran through the village, but didn't bother to look back. Andres had that effect on her; with his touch or his stare, nothing else in the world existed. Just him and her and their deep-rooted friendship.
"What do you want?" Nita asked, giving his arm a gentle punch. Andres took her hand and pulled her into one of the supply huts--this one holding barrels of hay for the horses. Andres took her around a few stacks to the back of the hut where they were shielded from anyone who'd come in.
Now hidden away, Andres took her face in his hands and pressed his lips to hers. A deep and passionate kiss that she'd never felt from him before.
"What was that for?" She asked when he pulled away, his callused hands still splayed on her face.
Andres shrugged. "I don't know, I just felt like it," he said, leaning in and doing it again. "Picking up where we left off last night." He then continued his gentle kisses down her neck, stopping at the spot above her collar bone where he began sucking.
"Andres, my mom will find out!" She said, gently pushing him away. "No marking." Andres nodded and dived back into her neck, brushing his lips along her neck as he ran his hands up underneath her shirt, feeling her soft skin. Nita rolled her head back with her eyes closed, savouring his touch as his hands explored her body.
The heat between her legs began to pulse as her need for him grew very strong. She didn't like to play around; she wanted him inside of her, she wanted him to fuck her, and then she wanted him to leave. As it always happened. She knew he felt the same as he hardened through his pants, pushing it against her stomach just to show her how much he needed her, too.
