Seb sighed deeply as he drove out through the open gate and turned onto the road. He hadn't expected to find leaving Alyssa so difficult. He'd been looking forward to spending time with the girls, but all he wanted to do now was turn the car around and go home, home to the woman he loved.
Soon he was pulling up outside Sienna's house. The front door was wide open and two suitcases were waiting on the step. He shook his head and wondered if he was going to fit everything in the boot.
"Sienna!"
"In the kitchen!"
He made his way through the hallway and into the kitchen. Sienna was wrapping some sandwiches in tin foil. She beamed at him.
"I'm just making some sandwiches for the journey. You know what the kids get like, hungry as soon as we leave."
"Are you nearly ready? Where are the girls?"
"Yeah, give me five minutes. Naomi is in her room reading, Rebekah is out in the back garden."
"I'm going to go and try to fit the cases in the boot. It's going to be tight!"
"I managed to fit it all into just two cases!"
"How many pairs of bloody shoes did you pack?"
"Six," she mumbled.
"Some things never change."
He turned and headed back to the car. With a bit of manoeuvring he managed to fit everything in.
He'd just finished when he heard the girls calling him. He turned around and opened his arms. They ran into them and hugged him.
"Hey girls. Excited?"
"Yes!" exclaimed Rebekah.
"Isn't Aunt Alyssa coming?" Naomi asked.
"No sweetie. She's staying at home."
"It's just you girls and Mummy and Daddy. It's going to be wonderful spending some family time away," Sienna said.
Seb sighed. Part of him wished Alyssa was coming but he knew it was for the best that she was nowhere near Sienna when he broke the news about their relationship.
"In you get girls. Make yourself comfortable." He made sure Naomi was strapped in properly, whilst Sienna strapped Rebekah in.
Soon they were on their way. "So how's Alyssa?" Sienna asked him.
"She's good, settling into the job well. Lynn has retired now, so she'll be in charge when we go back."
"Any single men you can set her up with so she stops getting ideas about you?"
"Drop it Sienna," he growled. "We're going on holiday with our daughters. There's no need to bring Alyssa into it."
Inside he was fuming. Set Alyssa up with a man? If only Sienna knew.
He switched the radio on, turning the volume up so he didn't have to listen to her. He was going to need all of his patience to stop himself from telling her before the last night.
Sienna smiled to herself. He didn't want to talk about Alyssa. That was fine by her. She just knew he still had feelings for her. This holiday was the ideal opportunity to let him know that she still loved him, that they could try again. Of course the first thing that would change when they got back together were their living arrangements. She and the girls would move into his house, and Alyssa would have to find somewhere else to live.
Maybe once she moved out and found somewhere of her own she'd get over her crush on Seb and they could rebuild their sister relationship. She got why Alyssa had a crush on him. He was gorgeous, kind and he'd saved her, taken her away from that psycho ex of hers. She just didn't understand that Seb and Sienna were meant to be.
