Night's Point of view
"Why is it so hot?"
Spark sighed "Because."
"Because why?" I responded
"Because it gets hot sometimes."
"Why are we walking?"
"Jack likes his Pokémon to get active and doesn't want us lounging in our poke-balls all day."
Frowning I looked up at the glaring sun above me finally conceding that I was caught and really was starting to enjoy it. It was the morning after Ruby and I had that little fight and it was a few hours after we had awoken to Katherine and Jack telling us they'd be traveling together. The mentioned something about being friends in Pallet town or something, but I was too focused on something else. Then before I knew it we were walking on the path to Pewter.
'What the hell was that dream last night…' I thought as I looked at the dirt roaf before me 'Was that Azelf a real Pokémon? And what the Mew was that black thing… it mentioned Arceus.' I sighed 'I guess I'll know if Azelf comes back.' I was a little freaked out at the prospect of getting attention from legendary Pokémon. I was fully content at living my life out of the spotlight and out of the gaze of the god-like legendary Pokémon that watched over the world.
"Night I actually wanted to tell you something." sounded Spark, breaking me out of my train of thought.
I turned to the Pikachu "What?"
"I just wanted to apologize."
I raised a brow "For what?"
He smiled a little "For getting you caught. I remember our talk in the Viridian forest and you seemed stressed out about the whole thing." Spark shrugged "I just felt bad, and I want you to know that Jack's a really good guy and he'll treat you well."
Being completely flabbergasted by the Pikachu's concern for me I felt a little crappy for pegging him negatively at first. He had thought about me, even after knowing me for less than a day. I looked away to keep the blue scarfed Pikachu from seeing the gratitude on my face and said "I'm sure he will. And … thanks but you don't have to worry about me."
'Humph, that was a jerk move Night.' Sounded a mysterious voice in my head.
"AH!" I shouted in shock as I jumped up a little bit, forcing everyone in the group to turn to me. Spark's eyes went wide and he stepped back a little. Razor turned and chuckled while Ruby just looked at me with disgust. Jack and Kat (wow that sounds like a children's book) just gave each other little glances.
Spark tapped me "You a-"
"I'm fine." I said quickly, which didn't help my case. But I wasn't focused on them at the moment, the foreign voice in my head was much more pressing.
'What the heck was that?' I thought hoping the voice would hear me.
'You don't recognize my voice… jeez. It's Azelf, I was just checking in on you.'
'You can get into my thoughts?' I questioned.
'Only for a bit because you're a dark type. I'll see you again when you get to Pewter, we can talk in detail then.' And with that the voice went away leaving me assured that something was going down.
"Night?" spoke Spark "Is that a normal thing for you to do?"
I blinked "Um… no. I just thought of something-"I quickly scanned my mind for something to lie about to cover my tracks "Isn't the Pewter City gym a ground type guy?"
