I shut the car door and walk up to the house. I want to run back to the car, go home, and eat more pizza.
I hesitate once I reach the door and finally after about 5 minutes of fighting with myself, I knock.
After he seemed like centuries, the beautiful angel opened the door.
Yeah I'm going to puke.
He awkwardly shuffles his feet and once again looks me up and down. I immediately cross my arms over my chest feeling insecure.
"Follow me." He turns and I follow him inside closing the door behind me.
Yeah no problem, I follow you anywhere you beautiful piece of man you.
His house is so big and even more beautiful on the inside than on the outside. He leads me up stairs and into a hallway where he turns into the farthest room at the end.
He plops down on his bed and grabs his phone immediately texting away.
I awkwardly stand in the doorway unsure of where to sit.He glances up at me, "You can sit wherever." I look around still not sure of where to sit.
I walk over to a chair at a desk and I decide to sit in that. Liam doesn't look up, he just continues texting on his phone.
Okay, so this is going well. The silence is as awkward as ever, and I'm just sitting shuffling my fingers scared to even talk.
"Man you're quiet." He chuckles slightly.
My heart flutters at his laugh.
"Yeah well." I manage, not making any sense and my cheeks turn the familiar shade of red they always seem to have.
He puts his phone down finally and looks at me again, "So," he starts awkwardly, "What are you going to help me with?"
"Um, I don't know. What do you need help with?" I question.
He scoffs, "I don't know aren't you suppose to know that? You're the tutor."
I shrug, "I can't help you if I don't know what you need help with. Do you understand what we are going over with Edgar Allen Poe right now?"
"Who is that?"
"Are you kidding me? We've been working on him all week." My frustration grows.
He picks up his phone again, "Yeah well I don't pay attention much in English. Just in the other classes."
The phone is driving me nuts. He's not even paying attention to me right now, let alone learning what he needs to learn.
"Okay, can you please put the phone down. You're not helping me or yourself."
He looks up at me in surprise."I didn't sign up for tutoring okay? And that's the most you've ever said since you've been here so congratulations." He smirks and goes back to his phone.
Okay, even though he's cute, he's being a real jerk right now. And he's bringing out some side of me that I didn't know I had.
"Okay, you being a real jerk isn't helping this situation. Can you please just help me help you?" I want to slap him, but kiss him at the same time.
This is bad for my health. He sighs putting his phone down, "Sorry, okay well I don't get anything that we are even doing or have been doing."
I sigh in relief, "Okay, well we can go over who Poe is and what we learned this week."
I pull out my worksheets and ask him to grab his that he says aren't even filled out. Doesn't surprise me.
He starts walking over to the desk that I'm sitting at making me freeze. He leans down over my legs and starts going through one of the drawers to find the papers.
I just want to pounce on him, but yeah, no.
He chuckles a bit as he keeps searching, "Not finding anything."
I sigh and bend down to help him search through the drawers. After no luck I reach over and put my hand on the handle of the last drawer and he places his hand on mine but quickly withdrawals.
"Eh, whoops." He says awkwardly.
"My bad." I say retracting my hand with heart fluttering because of the movie moment we just had.
He laughs awkwardly and grabs the drawer again hesitantly incase I tried to reach for it, and opens it to begin searching.
I reach into my bag to make it look like I'm doing something so I'm not just watching him search.
He finally pulls out the sheets we've been looking for, "Aha! There we go." He smiles his killer smile and sets them on the desk.
How am I doing this right now?
I help him through the worksheets and explain what is needed to be explained. He seems to understand everything and asks questions along the way.
-"Okay so next time we can work on more about the gothic periods." I start packing up my bag and pull out my phone to call my mom.
"Wait, I can just take you home if you want." He grabs the back of the chair I'm sitting in and helps himself up.
"Oh you don't have to, I can call my mom. I only live like 5 minutes away." I grab the phone again freaking out that he just offered to take me home.
"No, no. If you're only 5 minutes away then I can easily just take you home. I drive you know." He gives me a smirk.
"O-Okay then." I stand up and my eyes follow him as he grabs his keys on his nightstand.
He turns around and catches me staring and I look away quickly at my bag on the floor grabbing it and leaving behind him.
The drive is quick and before I know it we're in my driveway after several easy but difficult for Liam directions.
I open the door and try to stay cool, "Well, thanks for the ride. I'll see you tomorrow after school I guess."
He nods and says goodbye as I step out of the car.
