Amber
"Yeah he's looking right at you. Liam is over there too, but he's not looking." One of Nicole and I's friends Candace points out. We stopped when we saw her to chat about the game. She's dating a player from the team and she wanted to talk to Nicole about Niall.
"I want to look, I don't believe you." I state slowly turning my head.
"No!" Nicole grabs my head and turns it towards Candace again, "If you meet eyes with him, that'll be so awkward. You want him to think about your face without actually seeing it. Let him try and remember every detail of your face."
"Yeah, leave him in wonder. Play hard to get." Candace joins in sneaking glances at Josh and Liam behind us.
"But I haven't heard good things about him Amber." Lillian, our other friend speaks up after looking quietly at her phone.
"Like what?" I asked, I hope nothing too bad.
"Well, I heard that he's a bad kid, not one to mess with. He has definitely done some crimes." She hesitatingly looks across the grass to get a good look at him.
"Who cares, I like bad boys." I wink and start laughing.
"Right, Amber the goody two shoes wanting a bad boy. Classic." Nicole chimes.
"Shut up." I scowl hitting her arm.
Liam
"Your girlfriend? Get out of here mate you can't be serious." Josh starts laughing hysterically.
"I don't get what's so funny?" I scoffed feeling my own eyes peering at his stupid laughing face.
"Nah, I don't believe it." He stops laugh and let's a smirk hang on his face.
"Oh yeah? Well you better believe it mate 'cause it's true." I slide my money onto the table. I was completely done with this conversation.
I don't know why it's so funny that she could be my girlfriend?
"I just can't see her with you. She's pretty hot Liam." He grabs a couple waters and sets them on the counter between us. He just keeps getting me more mad. What is with him tonight?
"Yeah I know, and she's mine so shut your trap will ya?" I think I'm doing a rather swell job at keeping calm and not punching him in the face repeatedly right now.
"Whatever, I do what I want. But you're obviously lying and I happen to know that even more for a fact because she was just flirting with me five minutes ago." He smirks again and crosses his arms over his chest like he just won whatever this was.
Why was she flirting with him? I think she has enough on her plate already, I don't know why she'd want to bring another guy into the mess.
"Yeah, keep dreaming. Seriously knock this off, I have to go back on the field and you're not making me get any nicer over here." I grab all the stuff off the counter and turn away from him.
"Go kiss her."
"What?" I turn back to see him in the same position he was before leaning and smirking with his arms crossed.
"I said, go kiss her."
Why would he want me to kiss her? Doesn't he like her? I can't go kiss her. She would freak out. I think she's still mad at me from before even though she hasn't really acted like it.
"No, I don't have time. I'll kiss her after the game." I defend. Please just let me leave now, please. I start to try and walk away again but his voice intrudes yet again.
"Well that's no excuse, you're sitting here wasting your time talking to me, you can give her a quick kiss." He mockingly purses his lips.
"I shouldn't even be talking to you, but you are making me so mad with this whole situation I can't just walk away like I know I should."
"I really don't see the problem. The time that you took to say all that you could've been done kissing her and off in the field by now."
I never realized he was this much of a jerk, I had only said a few things to him in class. I didn't know he was capable of being a complete arse.
"Seriously I don't see the problem, I'll go kiss her right now. Show her a real macho guy who she can be with." He sends me a wink making me want to hurt him even more than I already do.
"If she was my girlfriend I would have no problem walking over there, taking her butt in my hands and slipping my tongue down her throat." He hungrily looks behind me at Amber again infuriating me with each word he has said. "I would just like to teach her things she doesn't know, you know what I mean by that." He gives me another wink following a smirk. I swear if I could slap that smirk off I would.
"You can't give her that Liam, she needs a bad guy like me to show her what she's missing."
I can't take his taunting anymore.
"If you were really her boyfriend you would've been over there by now kissing her like I so am going to do after the game is over and my shift is done." He licks his lips and that's what sends me over the edge.I turn immediately away from him and set my aim on Amber. Every little thing he said is piercing through me and I am sick of hearing his terrible words.
Of course I know how to treat Amber. Of course I know what she deserves and desires.
The closer I approach her the more nervous and regretful I get. I should've just left the stand and went back to the field. I only have about 2 minutes left because I wasted so much time with him.
I finally reach Amber and her group of friends, her hazel eyes meet mine and she smiles, "Great game out there."
I mirror her smile and grab her delicate pink cheeks in my hands and bring her lips to mine.
