The Salvatore school had been quiet for weeks during spring break. Josie stayed at the school to help dad. Lizzie had spent her break in treatment for her bipolar disorder. She often knew when to go. She could feel things were getting worse. She'd taken a leave of absence two weeks before spring break began. She's dumped Sebastian before she went as she knew it was the right thing to do. He seemed supportive. She couldn't wait to see him.
Her treatments were often in Europe with her mother. She hadn't had any time to ask Josie how life was at school while she had been gone.
Lizzie was sitting on a bus route that would take her from the airport back to mystic falls in which it was there she would take another bus to school. After the chaos of her father forgetting to pick her up years ago, she always took it upon herself to trust the bus even though, she often thought it smelled of an open sewer and smelly feet.
She thought while looking out the window as the city became more quiet towns about school. Mainly she thought about Sebastian. She thought about how she felt it was the wrong choice to break up with him. She really did love and care about him. She could see her reflection in the glass and she tried to selectively forget it was there.
Her time in treatment went well. She thought it had at least. Her head was far more clear. She would be able to see Hope, her sister, and the other witches.
The bus came to a halt.
In the Salvatore school, students were buzzing about the latest gossip, their home lives, and how they worked on their abilities during the break. Josie noticed something peculiar. Among these students, Sebastian and a tall blonde whom did not look dissimilar to her sister. She double took as she thought perhaps, Lizzie had made it home early.
Josie narrowed her brows and pulled her eyes off the couple. She was looking for her sister in the courtyard. It would have been any minute now. Josie had made a plan to not tell Lizzie what she had seen.
Sebastian and another girl
She looked at the couple again for a moment. Her hand was in Sebastian's. Josie tried to remember if anyone new had come to school that she would have known of. This girl's eyes were emerald green. Her hair platinum straight.
Josie realized who it was.
"Sabrina Ann Lilith," she said remembering.
She looked very different. She must have grown up.
Sebastian and Sabrina walked into the school as Josie continued to stare.
"Jo!" Lizzie yelled.
Josie turned to look at her sister wearing the same outfit she wore years ago when she and Lizzie came back from Europe.
"How are you?" Josie said smiling.
It was a smile with guilt in the eyes.
"Never better. Tell me all the juicy gossip, I heard Celeste got a pixie cut. I can't wait to see that." Lizzie said smirking.
Josie chuckled a little bit.
Students were filing into the common room for the normal regrouping and a pep talk by their headmaster, Alaric.
"Let's go!" Lizzie said grabbing Josie's arm forcefully with her suitcase traveling behind her with her other arm.
Josie wanted to stop her and just tell her what she saw, but something stopped her. Lizzie needed to find out by herself.
Lizzie almost forgot about Sebastian with all the chaos of students returning.
Lizzie sat down and began to scan the seats looking for Sebastian.
