It was a beautiful Christmas night.
The Christmas tree was decorated with spheres, lights, and little bells, as well as some cards that Ryujin had made, candles, gifts, and things typical of Lia's favorite day. On that day, the couple's small apartment was more than beautiful.
While Ryujin prepared the food, the older one helped her indirectly, singing from the armchair in the living room. The pleasant sound resonated throughout the place, and the youngest was smiling at hearing the beautiful voice of her girlfriend.
She put the plates and silverware on the coffee table in the living room and ran to get the food ready, and the older woman went to the rug and sat on a cushion. Ryujin arrived with the food, served for both of them, and then put the pots back in their respective places.
While they ate, they had fun telling their stories of when they were just two infants, remembering moments of joy and also sadness, which were overcome and, over time, brought a learning that was therefore used at a certain point in the trajectory. Of the two.
Amid laughter and embarrassing anecdotes, the night passed quickly and it was almost time to open the presents. They collected the dishes, and even though they didn't feel like it, they washed them together.
They were smiling, without needing to utter a word. They just wanted to enjoy the magic that interconnected them.
The most awaited moment arrived: midnight. From there, they could clearly see fireworks fly and explode in the starry sky. Lia was very excited and would not stop taking photos of anything that seemed to her that it should be captured.
Taking advantage of the elder's distraction, who was now making a video call with her parents, she slowly left the balcony and went to her room to look for the special gift she had chosen long ago. The small blue box with white details decorated with a bow of the same color might seem simple, but it concealed the fate and the change in the couple's life after that night, a Christmas night.
Ryujin returned to the balcony with the present hidden behind his back. Jisu was with her arms leaning on the parapet, staring at the landscape with a smile, and the younger one knew that she could stay admiring her girlfriend like this for the rest of the night.
–Oh, jagiya! Don't come so quietly, you scared me. - He said and put his hands in the pockets of his coat. Ryujin smiled.
-Hm, sorry, Jisu. I went to drink water in the kitchen. - The minor scratched the back of her neck with one of her hands, trying to hide any kind of strange attitude. - I think now we can go see the gifts on the tree, do you think?
Lia nodded in approval, then the two of them walked towards the ornate tree in the room. Ryujin was nervous, but she didn't want to leave her face behind, so she took a deep breath and returned to normal. He took one of the cards that were hanging and opened it for his girlfriend. Obviously she was not taking the cards at random, since she took advantage of her free time after work to stop by a stationery store and buy some supplies, in order to prepare this surprise for her beloved girlfriend.
