Chapter 1
Kaylinas pov
"How are you feeling?" My cousin Gaby asked. She sat next to me on my bed. She had her long dark hair in a pony tail. she was wearing jeans and a t-shirt. "Better. I think I'm going to go on a jog....to get my mind off of things." I said as I pulled the warm covers off of me. I walked into the bathroom to change and brush my teeth. I picked my long brown hair into a high ponytail. I slid into some sweats. I put on a sports bra and and oversized shirt. I put on my lucky old tennis shoes. "Bye auntie Tracy!" I yelled as I ran down stairs. "Woah! Where are you going? It's almost 7am an its during break. " my aunt Tracy asked as she walked over towards me. "I'm going for a run." I said. She nodded as she walked back up to her room.
I put my earphone on. DNA from little mix started to play as I began to run. My feet flew over the ground as I ran towards the park. I started to run in place as I decided where to start my jog. There was a hiking trail, but I didn't feel like getting lost in the woods. I continued to run around the park. My legs started to burn after a few laps. The sweat dripped from my forehead to my chin. I decided to sprint the rest of the lap. My breath was getting heavy. I saw the water fountain only a few yards away.
"Ugh!" I screamed as I tripped over the cracked cement. Strong hands caught me before I hit the ground. "Thanks so much." I said. My eyes met his. He had brown puppy dog eyes and brown hair. He was wearing a white tanktop and basketball shorts. "Out for a run?" He asked. "Yeah. What about you?" I asked. "Same. Just thought id take a break. You should too." He said.
Was he offering to hang out with me? "Um yeah. Sure." I managed to say. His eyes looked into mine. "I'm just going to drink....some....water." I said. He nodded as he moved out of the way for me. The cool water felt good in my mouth. I lifted my shirt, reveling my flat stomach, as I wiped the sweat from my face. A grin was plastered on his face when i looked back at him. He motioned for me to follow him. "So do you have a name?" He asked as we sat on the swings. "Kaylina. And you?" I asked. My feet dragged on the floor as I started to swing. "Well some people call me liam, but you can call me tonight. " he winked. A small giggle escaped my lips."I'm sorry that was not smooth. At all." I laughed. "I know." He started to laugh with me.
"Tell me about yourself." He said. His smile was comforting. "Okay. Well I love dogs. I used to have a dog when I was younger but he died. Family vacation, no one was home to feed my dog. Yeah I cried for weeks." I said.
"I had a dog once. He ran away." He said.
"I'm sorry." I said.
"Let's have a race. And let's bet on it." Liam said.
"And what would the bet be?"
"Okay we race to that fence and back." He said as he pointed to a fence at the end of the park.
"Okay."
"And if I win we do this again. Like hang out. Tomorrow. And if you win. You get to kiss me." He said.
"Okay. I don't kiss people I hardly know so. I'll be seeing you tomorrow." I said. "I hope so." He whispered in my ear. I felt butterflies in my stomach.
"GO!" He said. I ran as fast as I could. My feet barley touching the ground. He was a ways behind me by the time I reached the fence. I sprinted back. I barley made it before he caught up to me. We were both out of breath. "Wow you're fast." I said. He licked his lips as he chuckled. My face filled with embarrassment as I realized what I just said. "Oh I didn't I didn't mean it like. You know not like." I struggled to explain my self. He leaned in and kissed me. His soft lips barely touched mine. "It's fine. I get it. I'm pretty fast." He said as he winked at me.
"I have to get home. Um how will I know where you'll be tomorrow?" I asked. He pulled out his white iPhone. "Here put your number in." He said. My fingers rapidly typed in the 10 digit number. "Here. Text me tonight." I said. He smiled. I couldn't help but smile back.
I jogged back home. Opened the door to the two story house. "I'm back." I yelled. My voice echoed through the house. "Kaylina! You're back? My moms out and Jai and Luke are here. You remember Jai?" Gaby said. She was wearing Luke's sweater and some jeans. Luke and Jai came from behind her. They all walked down to greet me. "Yeah. Hey guys." I said. Luke gave me a hug. Jai just stood there smiling. "Aren't you going to hug me?" I said. Everyone laughed. "Yeah Jai. Don't be rude. Hug her." Luke said as he push Jai towards me.
"Hi." Jai said as he awkwardly hugged me. "Wow you're much taller than I remember. I haven't seen you in like a year." I said. The room was silent. "So. Um Gaby and I were going out for brunch. Do you guys want to come?" Luke asked. His eyes were locked on Jai's. "Um you guys can go with out me. I'm going to take a shower." I said. "I'll stay! And keep you company." Jai said. He took a seat on the couch. "Okay ill be back." I said as I jogged upstairs.

"Okay dude don't try anything." Luke whispered to me before he left. I nodded. Gaby and Luke left. I took my glasses off. I glided my finger on the glass. I took a deep breath. Kaylina looked so gorgeous. Even with sweat dripping from her forehead. Ugh I'm suck an idiot. I hugged her all awkwardly.
"Kaylina." I called. I didn't hear an answer so I jogged up the stairs. "Kay." I called again as I slowly peaked through her bedroom door. The bathroom door was open. I walked over towards it. I felt the steam from the shower hit my face as I glanced inside. Kaylina was standing there in shower. The water dripped down her bareback as she brushed her fingers through her long brown hair. She turned around and saw me. My face was red. "OH MY GOD!" She screamed as she struggled to cover herself. "I'm so sorry. I-I ." I tried to explain myself. "GET OUT!" She yelled. I closed the door. My glasses fogged up. Kaylinas never going to forgive me. God I'm an idiot I shouldn't have looked, but she was so beautiful.
I ran downstairs. A few minutes later she came out of her room. She was wearing a blue spring dress. Her long beautiful hair was in a bun. "Um hi." She said. Her hand clenched to the railing of the stairs. I wiggled my toes in my shoes. " um I'm sorry I didn't mean to-"
"It's fine. Lets just forget it happened. You can help yourself to the kitchen and the tv. Ill be upstairs in my room. Please knock if you need something." She added as she walked back upstairs. the smell of her perfume lingered by the stairs.

Ugh I feel so disgusted. Little Jai saw me naked. I laid down on my bed. My iPhone rang. I picked up the black iPhone. It was a message from a number I didn't recognized. I slid it open.
Random number: hey it's Liam! Today was great. Um see you tomorrow? Same time?
me: yes. Can't wait!
Liam ;)
