Before we begin the (shorter for today) chapter, I have some shameless self-promo:
if there are, by any chance, any Rock Lee fans out there, please check out my new book!! :DI have great news: a few days ago I sat down and planned out every single thing that would happen in the rest of the story (up til now I had an abstract idea but i actually wrote down exact things that would happen) so I'm going to be putting out chapters much more quickly now that i know exactly what I want to happen. We actually only have 8 chapters left, so get excited!! That being said, please allow more time between this update and the next, because I'm going to try and write the next three chapters before uploading so that I can get on a more consistent posting schedule. Thanks!!
Also, for Kei's part, I would recommend listening to Infrunami by Steve Lacy - just feel like it fits the vibe
When the final bell rang, you wasted no time packing your things and leaving classroom 1-4. Tsukishima's words had made you so angry that all you wanted was some time alone in your room to cool off. You practically ran to the front doors of the school, bumping into at least three people in the process. On any other day, you would have stopped and apologized profusely, but today, all you cared about was getting the hell out of that damn school. Once you were finally out of the building, you paused to take a breath.
"F/n! Wait up!" a voice called, and your head whipped around to investigate its' source. A tall, greenish brown-haired figure came running towards you, panting.
"Tadashi? What are you doing here?" you questioned, forgetting that you had demoted the boy to a last-name basis.
After stopping next to you and catching his breath for a few seconds, he spoke: "Can we talk? Please?"
You were still angry at him for what he had done, and all you wanted to do was leave the premises so that you wouldn't have to have yet another uncomfortable conversation, but you found yourself unable to say no to the desperate look on his face. "I'm all ears," you sighed, taking a few steps forward and motioning for him to come and walk with you. He followed, staying silent for a few seconds until you told him: "Well, speak up, won't you?"
"Yeah, sorry, I was just figuring out what I wanted to say exactly," he said, awkwardly scratching the back of his neck. "Um, I just wanted to tell you I'm sorry...I've been kind of a jerk to you recently. I didn't even have the guts to apologize to you in person, and I've been upset at you for not reaching out to me, but I've also never tried to reach out to you either, and I see you doing amazing things this year, and I'm so proud of you and can't help but thinking about how much I miss you and how I shouldn't have sided with Tsukishima-"
Although it was a fairly serious topic, you couldn't shake the urge to chuckle for some reason, and Tadashi was a little bit shocked when he heard the sound escape your lips. You were so touched by his words and happy to know that he was looking out for you even when you weren't speaking. What he had done to you was wrong nonetheless, but after his heartfelt apology, you felt ready to forgive him. The truth was that you missed him immensely, and even with your new friends, felt lonely without his comforting presence. Yet he was talking so quickly and nervously, and it reminded you of how he had acted when you had told him you loved him (platonically, of course) during your Skype call near the beginning of the year. What a sweet memory...
"What?" he asked, stopping in his tracks and waving his arms around in panic. "Did I say something wrong?"
"Not at all," you reassured him, stopping as well so you could look him straight in the eyes. "In fact, you've said everything right. But you started rambling again, and it reminded me of the times we used to spend together..."
