It wasn't hard for Okimi to spot Gin standing at the side of the Christmas tree as he stood a little taller than the other people walking by. It was clear that he'd not spotted the girl making a beeline for him, too distracted with his phone. Getting closer, Okimi could see the guy smiling at the screen as if looking at something special.

A knot formed in her stomach when his grey eyes turned to face her, the look on his face going to a clearly forced smile. Part of her knew what was about to come next, even though she'd been excited to come and see her boyfriend, part of her had an inkling that something was right for a while now. The distance had clearly put a lot of pressure on their relationship, but it wasn't anything that she thought they couldn't get through.

Nevertheless, it was clear that not only was he about to break up with her Okimi was being replaced by someone else.

"Oh, hey Kimi," Gin awkwardly hugged Okimi before quickly retreating backwards.

"Hey Gin," her tone cold, a hostile glint in her golden orbs staring at him with an unease that hadn't been there on the bus.

"Shall we go get a drink?" trying to deflect from the blizzard stare being forcefully sent his way, Gin gestured towards a small little cafe. Okimi glanced over then back to Gin, wondering how she'd not clicked from the lack of contact they'd had recently, that he'd no doubt been seeing someone else. Being so close to the end of the year, she assumed that he'd been busy with university work.

'You know what assume did Okimi you idiot...made an ass out of you and me,' Scolding her naive self in her head before taking a huge sigh.

"You know what Gin? Fuck you," glaring at him, the words caught the blonde silver-haired man off his guard.

"Excuse me?" his tone was hushed, unlike hers had been. Not wanting to cause a scene in such as public place.

"You heard me. Fuck you! If you wanted to break up you should have done it before starting to fuck whoever got you smilin' like that," glaring fiercely as a few passers-by tsked at the man. The look on Gin face gave her all the answers, as he was too stunned to deny at first and before he could attempt to, Okimi turned on her heels.

"It's over! You cheatin' asshole," When she glanced over, the look on his face turned to thunder as he bared his teeth. Clearly outraged that he'd been dumped before he'd had a chance to come up with some bullshit about the distance being an issue or some other made-up fact. Instead, he put the dagger in her back and twisted it, not caring what the noise onlookers thought of it.

"Well, if you weren't so shit in bed. Maybe I'd want to stick around," it was a low blow, also she could have said the same about him. Mr Missionary himself with the lights off.  Okimi turned, forcing the tears not to fall from her glistening eyes as she continued to walk away.

"I hope they make you happy and I hope they like a small dick that only knows on position," spitting back the venomous words, she decided to fasten her pace not wanting to any more of a confrontation.

Gin on the other hand was so pissed at her! Okimi saw him trying to make his way towards her direction, luckily a group of women on a night out crossed his path.

Taking a deep breath Okimi was wanting to wait for a bus to take her home, it would have given Gin a chance to catch up to her and that was something she wasn't wanting right now. Instead, her hand flew out to flag down a taxi to take her home. It was also the quickest way and right now all she wanted was to get home and curl up in her bed, whilst sobbing herself to sleep.

Of course, she'd completely forgotten that there was a party going on at home with her brother's old volleyball teammates and people that they'd met at tournaments, as well as special training events they'd been on.

Okimi's mind was currently in a whirlwind of emotion. Part of her was thankful that she didn't give him the opportunity to end it, part of her was completely heartbroken as she had/did love Gin and he had loved her at one point. Then another part of her was consumed by rage at the fact he'd been fuckin' someone or some people behind her back and like an idiot she'd not put two and two together.

'Fuck's sake. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to work out,' sitting in the back of the cab, the tears started to fall silently, as the vehicle took her home to safety. As it drove the store not far from her house was still open.

"Hey, I'll get out here. Thank you," her voice was a little croaky and sniffled from the tears.

"You sure?" the driver pulled over, glancing in the back but couldn't see the girl's face fully.

"Yeh that's great thanks," glancing at the meter, she pulled out some cash with a little extra to tip the man.

"Thank you, Miss. Have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year," the man smiled brightly at the donation as she opened the door to get out. Not really feeling the festive spirit, but also not wanting, to seem rude either.

"You too," it was a barely audible mumble, but the radio sounded, signalling a pick-up of another passenger.

Stepping out of the small, warm space of the car the chill in the air hit her nose like tiny blades. The tingling of snowflakes melted upon her cheeks as she made her way to the convenience store. The whoosh of the door opening alerted the member of staff to the presence of a customer.

"Good evening," the young man called out as Okimi nodded in greeting. Not daring to speak again, as the fear that she would begin to sob uncontrollably. Instead, she made her way to the liquor aisle in search of a comforter to make the pain a little less painful. Okimi knew that her problems weren't going to be resolved at the bottom of a bottle. Hell, if for one night she could let loose, then why the hell, not tonight.

Gazing at the bottles of spirits, wines and beers trying to decide on a poison but also not wanting to completely kill her liver by drinking a full bottle of vodka, the girl opted for more of a celebratory drink. Prosecco seemed in order, something bubbly to celebrate the yuletide and her now single existence.  Grabbing one from the shelf, before purchasing it from the friendly counter assistant who wished her a Merry Christmas, she made her way towards her house.

Deciding to stop at the park in the snow to sit on the swing to start to drink her woes away, with no other care in the world, apart from trying to get rid of the feeling in her broken heart.
