An New Journey

(Y/n)'s POV

All of us were walking a lot and I was starting to get a little tired of walking a bit. Cloud carry me behind his back while Lukas was walking next to Tifa and Barret, I know I am day 2 of being pregnant of these babies but it was a good thing that me and Cloud were able to find some food for Lukas but now I am starting to get hungry and I had to eat a quick snack before making sure that I let Lukas have some food as well. All of us were quiet, me and Cloud noticed Aerith looking at us for a second before she looks back forward.

I started to rest my head on Cloud's shoulder before Tifa started talking to Barret, "Hey, Barret. We really walking the whole way?" Tifa asked Barret. Barret was looking at Tifa before looking back at up, "Yup." Barret said to Tifa. Tifa just sighs at this before telling Barret, "Kalm's still pretty far, though, isn't it?" Tifa asked Barret. Barret was still looking ahead before telling Tifa, "'Nother full day, give or take." Barret said to Tifa. Lukas was looking at Barret before he started talking to him, "But still Barret, me and (Y/n) need to eat and get some rest as well. I still need a full meal and also my sister is like 2 or 3 days of being pregnant." Lukas said to Barret. Me and Cloud looked at each other before we started to smile at this because Lukas thinks he is like us, but he still have so much time on his life.

Cloud was doing a great good of being a father figure to Lukas, even though it's been a few days since Cloud has been there for Lukas, but Cloud has been doing a great job as well. I just hope Cloud is ready for two kids because it is going to be hard for them in, but at least I could count on Cloud's help. Aerith decided to talk to Barret, "Question... When my mom says, 'a full day.' She means from the time you get in the morning till the time you go to bed...but for me, it means from the time you get up in the morning all the way through till the time you get up the next morning. So, which is it for you?" Aerith asked Barret.

Barret thought about it quick before telling Aerith, "Gotta go with Elmyra on that one." Barret said to Aerith with a smile on his face. Aerith looks relief from this before putting her hands together before telling Barret, "Phew, that's a relief!" Aerith said to Barret with a relief tone in her voice. Tifa and Lukas were looking at Aerith before asking Aerith, "Is it, though?" Tifa and Lukas asked Aerith at the same time. Everyone was quiet before Barret break the silence because he turns around to look at me and Cloud before calling our names out, "Cloud. (Y/n). Bet you've two had to hoof it from sunup to sundown tons of times. This is all just same old, same old, right?" Barret asked us.

Me and Cloud looked at each other before telling Barret, "That's right." We said to Barret. Cloud decided to talk to Barret, "But even so, we're all gonna need to stop and rest. Especially you." Cloud said to Barret with a little caring tone in his voice. I looked at Barret before telling him, "He's right. 'We need to make sure we got enough energy to get the full day started.' That's what my older brother would say to me and Lukas every time we stay up late." I said to Barret. Me, Cloud, Lukas, and Tifa chuckles at this because they remember those lines of what Jake used to say every time when we are not getting sleep.

Cloud's POV

Barret just looks away from me and (Y/n) before telling us, "Yeah, yeah, I know... Anyway, marchin' into the unknown ain't easy, but don't worry, 'cause I'm here to lead the way!" Barret yelled out to all of us. Aerith started to chuckle at this before telling Barret, "That's comforting!" Aerith said to Barret. (Y/n) started to touch my shoulder to let me know that she wants to walk now, so I put (Y/n) down before we started walking hand and hand to each other. Barret just agrees with Aerith, "Of course it is!" Barret yelled out to everyone and he started to laugh a bit.

Me and (Y/n) started to smile at this, I noticed (Y/n) was starting to relax a bit before we started a little faster to make sure we didn't get left behind from the group. Once we made sure we got closed to everyone, we noticed Barret run up a bit before turning around to look at us before he stopped walking, "Alright, everyone—let's stop here for a minute. Leader's orders!" Barret said to all of us. All of us stop walking to see Barret open his arms wide open, I noticed Lukas was walking back to me and (Y/n), "Now breathe in that fresh air!" Barret yelled out to us.
