"My new home?" I asked. I looked around the room... there was a fireplace, a table, a window, a closet, a big bed... "I honestly don't mind it!"

"...you're a weird Human." The Vampire said to me. "Anyways, the sun's going to be coming up soon, so I'd best be going."

"Wait!" I yelled. "What's your name?"

"My name?" He asked. "Why do you want to know? It's not like you'll use it."

"Well, it's better than just calling you by the name of your species."

"You can call me Katsuki." He quietly told me, before exiting the room.

After he left, I fell onto the bed, and then slept.

It had been a long day.

I had worked all day, then saw three dead bodies, had my arm broken, was almost killed, was chosen by a Vampire, thrown into the air and hit the ground so hard I almost lost consciousness, was brought back to reality by the pain of my wrist being slit open...

After all that, I really just want to sleep.

And, among all that... there was a strange feeling deep inside me.

It almost felt like... disappointment.

I was outside the village, right? I was free now, right?

Why do I feel so... unfulfilled...?

It's because I'm still imprisoned.

I'm not free.

And so long as I exist in this world...
I never will be.
