It was a cloudy and quiet night in London, yet it was filled with dread as most of its resident's waited on the oncoming danger. Moments later, helicopters started to fly over London. The sirens went off which signaled the bombings were starting, yet again. As the sirens went off, the bombs started dropping and explosions would crowd most areas.
As this happened, Edmund watched it all from the window until his mother, Helen pulled him away. She called for Peter who quickly showed up as she Helen ordered him to take Edmund to their shelter outside in the backyard quickly. As they left, she grabbed an extra blanket for them before following.
Upstairs, Rosie quickly awoke to the bombs, which terrified her. She quickly got out of her bed and went over to Lucy, sliding in next to her sister, hiding herself in the blankets. Lucy hugged her sister, who was equally frightened.
Both sisters covered their ears as the bombings continued. It caused the ground to shake, which terrified them extremely.
"Mummy!" Lucy yelled out just as Susan came into the room to grab something. She turned over to Rosie and Lucy's side, noticing her younger sisters in Lucy's bed as she shone the flashlight towards them.
"Lucy! Rosie! Come on!" She said, grabbing both of them out of Lucy's bed and taking them outside to the shelter. Their mother left the house first with Rosie, Lucy, Susan, Edmund and Peter following right behind. The kids let out a yell of fear since the explosions were near, causing them to hurry.
Once they arrived, Edmund called out, "Wait! Dad!" This caused Rosie to turn around at the mention of her dad and saw Edmund and Peter running back to the house. The sisters grew scared as did their mother, "Edmund! No! Peter!"
Just as Rosie was about to run after them, her mother stopped her. "Rosie get inside quickly!"
Rosie turned back to the house frowning, listening to her mother. She sat with Lucy, sharing the blanket as Susan held them both. Suddenly, Edmund came falling in and landed on the other bed with Peter at the entrance of the door.
"Why can't you think of anyone but yourself? You're so selfish! You could have got us killed!" Peter yelled at Edmund.
"Stop it!" Their mother cut in, stopping the fight before glancing back at Edmund. The girls looked over at Edmund and noticed him holding their dad's broken picture frame. Rosie got up from her spot and hugged Edmund, softly sniffling. This caused him to sit up a bit and immediately hugged her back with their mother gently patting their backs.
