"Come on, humans! While we're still young." Mr. Beaver called out to the siblings as they walked ahead of the group.

Susan held Rosie's hand as they conversed, which made Susan very pleased after not been able to talk to her younger sister in months.

"If he tells us to hurry up one more time, I'm gonna turn him into a big, fluffy hat." Peter joked as he picked up Lucy, giving her a piggyback ride, making his sisters laugh with him.

"Hurry up! Come on!"

"He is getting a little bossy." Lucy commented. Rosie then felt a sudden chill, as she heard a faint sound of bells, causing her to turn back.

"No! Behind you! It's her!" Mrs. Beaver warned them.

"Run! Run!" Mr. Beaver told them. Rosie couldn't process quickly as Susan and Peter held onto her arms, pulling her with them as they ran. They hurried into forest at the other end of the lake. "Hurry!"

"Inside! Dive! Dive!"

"Quick! Quick!"

They dove into a little cave and stayed still as Rosie tried to calm her breathing, hiding half her face in Peter's coat. They watched the shadow on the mound of snow in front of them as a bit of snow dropped down onto the cave. Rosie, however, didn't feel much fear as she thought she should have, making her a bit confused. She slowly moved from behind Peter's coat as the group stayed silent.

The figure then walked off, as the group stayed quiet for a couple of seconds. "Maybe she's gone." Lucy whispered.

"I suppose I'll go look." Peter suggested, but Mr. Beaver stopped him.

"No. You're worth nothing to Narnia dead."

"Well, neither are you, beaver." Mrs. Beaver argued but Mr. Beaver simply held her paws, "Thanks sweetheart." As he scrambled up top, Rosie held Mrs. Beaver's paws as they waited nervously.

Rosie tried to think of what to do, if she should summon flames or summon the woods to help, but then she started to question why a part of her wasn't worried. Shuffling was herd above, "What's that?" Susan asked worried but Peter simply shushed her as they tried to hear if anything was happening.

Suddenly Mr. Beaver popped his head down, causing Lucy to let out a shriek and Rosie to accidentally throw a snowball from her hands, missing his head. "Wow, calm down love! Come out! I hope you've all been good 'cause there's someone here to see ya! Let's hope he'll let that pass Rosie." Mr. Beaver chuckled.

The siblings looked at each other curiously before giving looks to Rosie after what she did before they emerged from the cave and right before them was Father Christmas. Rosie beamed with happiness, excitement, and relief when she saw him, especially when he laughed happily once he saw the kids.

"Merry Christmas, sir." Lucy told him with a smile.

"It certainly is, Lucy, since you have arrived."

"Look, I've put up with a lot since I got here, but this--" Susan started, causing Rosie to smirk at her sister, shaking her head.

"We thought you were the witch." Peter explained.

"Yes, yes, sorry about that, but in my defense, I have been driving one of these longer than the Witch. And I thought maybe the young Queen would sense that there is no danger coming her way." He added looking down at Rosie.

"Sorry sir. I'm getting the hang of it." She told him with a small, determined nod.

"That's okay, your Majesty. Good to know they are working." He reassured and she smiled as he reached in his sleigh.

"I thought there was no Christmas in Narnia." Susan implied.

"No. Not for a long time. But the hope that you have brought, Your Majesties, is finally starting to weaken the Witch's power. Especially with the young majesty here." He said with a smile towards Rosie as she gave one back. "Still, I dare say you could do with these." He said as he got the huge brown sack from his sleigh and dropped it on the ground.

"Presents!" Both girls excitedly said as they walked towards Father Christmas. Rosie sensed that Lucy was first, so she stepped back slightly.

"The juice of the fire-flower. One drop will cure any injury." Lucy turned to Rosie confused and back to him, "When someone needs saving, and Rosie is not there, you will be there for rescue." He informed, clearing up the girls' confusion. "And though I hope you never have to use it," He presented her with a small dagger.

"Thank you, sir, but I think I can be brave enough." Lucy reassured causing Father Christmas to chuckle.

"I'm sure you could. But battles are ugly affairs. Susan." Lucy stepped back as Susan stepped forward a bit. He got out a bow and a quiver of arrows, handing them to her, "Trust in this bow and it will not easily miss."

"What happened to 'battles are ugly affairs'?"

He softly chuckled, "Though you don't seem to have a problem making yourself heard," He presented her with an ivory horn, "blow on this horn and wherever you are, help will come."

"Thanks." Susan took the horn as she stepped back. Peter was hesitant to step forward, thinking Rosie was next but Rosie nodded at him, causing him to step forward. Father Christmas brought out a bright silver shield with a red lion roaring and a sword in its scabbard with the hilt of the sword being the head of a lion.

"Peter. The time to use these may be near at hand."

He handed them to Peter, who took them before pulling the sword out as Rosie admired her brother and looked at the engraving on the sword. "Thank you, sir."

Father Christmas then turned to Rosie, as Peter stepped back. Before Father Christmas gave her gift, Rosie spoke up. "What about Edmund?"

"His gift, I do not have. But he will gain it." Father Christmas informed, giving a firm smile before getting her gift. "Do be careful when use of this." He handed her a sword with the heft made of dragon skin. Rosie's eyes widened as she grabbed it carefully. Peter and Susan cut in, "Are we sure she can have that? She is awfully young." Peter informed.

"She has the mark." Father Christmas stated as Rosie folded the sleeve of her coat showing her older siblings. "Any one she will duel; she will come out on top if she truly believes. But she will also have her older siblings to teach her." He reassured them. He also brought out brown leather corset gloves, "These are most important in battles in your case. The gloves that will secure your powers. Yes, you will be able to use your powers in battle, but these gloves will help you by not overpowering you. With the gloves, it will help secure your powers all in once, if that opportunity happens." He informed as she looked at her gloves in amazement.

"Your abilities are very powerful." He started, causing the girl to glance up. "Control is very important. As well as belief, from others and yourself."

Rosie simply nodded, taking in the advice. She knew this was important, so she repeated it in her head so she could remember.

"These are tools, not toys. Bear them well and wisely. Now, I must be off. Winter is almost over, and things do pile up when you've been gone a hundred years." He told them as he placed the bag back in the sleigh. "Long Live Aslan." He chanted, sitting on his sleigh, making Rosie beam with hope. "And Merry Christmas." He told them, grabbing the reins and off he went.

"Merry Christmas!" The kids yelled. "See you next year!"

Lucy turned to Susan and jokingly said, "Told you he was real."

Rosie nodded along, as Susan looked at her younger sisters, still processing what just happened.

"He said winter was almost over. You know what that means." Everyone turned to Peter as he smiled at them, "No more ice."
