chapter 1

I quickly changed into my white hoodie and black pants before picking up my bag and rushing out of the house with Jungkook by my side and walking with me to my new school. We walked side by side. We didn't take the bus or taxi as saving money was our priority right now.

As we reached the school gate, students whispered and pointed at us. When I mean us, I mean Jungkook. Many girls thought he looked handsome, but I just couldn't see it.

He placed his arms around my frame and whispered a goodbye before leaving. I pretended to be disgusted and dusted off imaginary dust. Since when did he become so cheesy?

Many girls tried to approach me but failed due to the lack of confidence. I was probably the new student as it was midterm.

Suddenly, a guy with cute dog features made his way up to me. "Are you Park Sena?" he asked, checking his clipboard.

I nodded timidly and he smiled warmly before continuing, "I'm Kim Seungmin, I'll be showing you around." I followed him like a ducking was following her mother as he showed me where my locker was, which luckily, was near my classroom and he showed me everywhere around the school, finally my classroom as he bowed to me, "Have a great day!" I bowed back to show gratitude and he left.

My hand shaking, I opened the classroom door and at the same time, a teacher behind me brought me along into the classroom.

"Students!" she shouted, causing the students to stop what they were doing and looked between me and the teacher. Once she had each and every student's attention, she said, "Please welcome our new student, Park Sena."

Students clapped to welcome me.

"Hello! Please take care of me!" I said while bowing 90 degrees. Now, was my seating arrangement. Boys looked at me with admiration in their eyes. I looked like the female version of Jungkook so maybe that's the reason.

"Sit next to Minho over there, at the back. See that boy sleeping over there, wait he's sleeping, MINHO!" my teacher, Mrs Seo shouted as she directed my seat. I walked over and sat next to him. He looked at me with no expression. I did a tiny bow to him, and he looked away without bowing back or any comment.

'Rude...' I thought, but I shrugged it off and took out my books for the lesson. As Mrs Seo began to write things on the board, I realised I had forgotten to bring my pen. I glanced to my right where Minho was next to me. He looked so focused I didn't want to burden him just to ask for a pen. Just as I was about to give up, a pen rolled onto my table. I looked up and Minho said simply, "You should hurry up and finish what's she's writing on the board right now, she's going to erase everything soon."

As soon as I heard his words, I hurriedly scribble down whatever she was writing while thanking him silently.

After about an hour, class finally ended and I exited the classroom, realising I didn't have money to buy anything from the cafeteria, I sighed and walked towards my locker and slowly placed my books inside. My stomach growled hungrily but what could I do?

"Hey," I heard someone saying which startled me and I whipped around and noticed four boys looked at me.

"Yes?" I asked.

"You're the new girl in our class, wanna join us for lunch? I'm han by the way." A boy who was in front of me asked.

I didn't want to tell them I didn't have money until one of them spoke up, "I could treat you if you'd want. I'm Hyunjin." Another one said.

I was about to reject when one on my far right said, "Please? I want you to get to know us better." He looked so cute he reminded me of bread.

Left with no choice, I reluctantly agreed and placed my stuff in the locker before following them. They introduced themselves, Han, Hyunjin, Jeongin and Changbin who didn't see happy that I was tagging along. All of them except Jeongin and I sat at the table as the rest went to go get our food.

"Where are you from?" he asked innocently, blinking his eyes, smiling while showing his dimples.

"Uhhhhh Busan, just moved here." I said uncertainly.

"I'm from Busan too!" he said happily and smiled even more. We chatted for pretty long till the rest came back. Hyunjin sat on my left, Han sat on my right, Jeongin sat in front of me and Changbin next to him. Before we were about to dig in, four more boys joined the table. They started chatting and I felt invisible that I wanted the ground to swallow me.

"Guys meet Sena," Hyunjin said and one of the boys looked at me, which I recognised was Seungmin. He smiled and waved at me across the table. "You guys met?" Han asked. "I was the one who showed around this morning."

I glanced at the four boys that had just appeared and noticed Minho was among them. He didn't seem to care about my presence and just nodded when he caught my gaze. "I'm Chan , welcome, and this is Felix." One of them said with a thick Australian accent.

"Hello." Felix said and my eyes widened as large as saucers at his deep voice.

The eight of them to continue to talk while I just sat, quietly eating my food, not talking at all. They were talking so loudly that my ears felt like it wanted to burst.

Hyunjin noticed me being uncomfortable and said, "Are we too loud for you?"

YES, YOU ARE EXTREMELY LOUD!

But I didn't want to be rude thus I said, "No, not at all" I flashed a sheepish smile and Hyunjin chuckled, and they continued to talk and eat.

School ended after my last period ended. I went to the school courtyard and waited for Jungkook. He finally showed up after 30 minutes.

"You're early by 30 minutes." I said sarcastically as he placed an arm around my shoulder and we walked back home.
