It was night-time and I decided to make a quick stop to the convenience store to pick up my wallet from the short guy.
I closed the café, grabbed my handbag and walked in the quiet street. The lights of the convenience store shone brightly, and I opened the door, and Jimin was there, looking bored. His eyes lit up when he saw me.
This guy was cute, no doubt.
"My wallet." I demanded, snapping myself out of my thoughts.
"Why are you so rude?" he asked, tilting his head to the side.
I gave him a glare and if looks could kill he would've been dead by now. He went to go get it while I stayed alone by the counter. But, as I inhaled the cold air, my chest started to hurt, I gripped onto my hoodie tightly while I started coughing softly which grew louder and louder by the second. Tears brimmed my eyes as I fell to the floor, coughing out blood which spattered all over the white clean floor.
No, not now.
But then, it was all black.
(3hours later)
I woke up and observed my surroundings. I wasn't at home, or in the convenience store, or at the café. I looked down to my outfit and noticed white patient's clothes. My arm was connected to an IV tube. (....?)
I glanced to my right and Jungkook was there by my right side, holding onto my arm as if it was fragile and seeping peacefully. A doctor came in.
"Oh great! You're awake Sena, I'll have to do a few check-ups on you, and we'll have to monitor you for the next few days before we can release you." She said.
She placed the diaphragm onto my shirt softly while plugging the earpieces of it into her ears and checked my heart rate and heartbeat. "Heartbeat is fine, well, there are some visitors waiting for you outside." She said softly and exited the room. Han, Chan, Seungmin, Jeongin, Felix, Hyunjin, Minho and surprisingly Changbin came rushing in and started asking me a lot of questions which jolted Jungkook awake.
"I'll leave you alone." He mumbled, smiling and walking out.
"Are you okay?" Han asked.
I nodded but confusion was written on my face, "how'd you know I was here?" I asked.
"Oh, a guy that's taller than Changbin told your brother and your brother informed us through your phone but most importantly, what kind of person doesn't put a passcode for their own phone?" Chan asked, questioning me.
"Hasn't it been considered useful? Besides, she just woke up, don't start nagging at her mum." Hyunjin said, rolling his eyes.
The boys talked for a while but decided to leave to let me rest but Minho stayed behind. "Why didn't you tell us about your condition?" he asked quietly, looking at the floor. "I could've treated you better."
"That's the reason. I don't want someone to think differently of me and treat me like that. I wanted to be treated like any other normal girl, not a cancer idiot."
"But you could've still said." He remarked.
My eyes softened as he said that.
"Aren't friends supposed to tell friends their problems." He said, he stuffed his hands in his pockets and looked around the room, developing a fond interest in walls.
He, he considered us friends.
"Ah." Was all I said, all words got stuck in my throat.
He bade me a goodbye but before he left, he turned around and said, "Thanks for finding Yuri to me."
Yuri...? Oh, that kiddo.
I chuckled and closed my eyes, hoping to catch some Zs. After it failed, I decided to go out for a walk at the hospital's rooftop. I walked out from the bed and went up to the rooftop. There, I saw patients in wheelchairs or with IV bags trailing behind them. I sat on a bench and stared at the night-time scenery before me.
Those blinding lights from the buildings. Happy chatter from the children, the stars shining brightly in the stars, the half crescent moon shining the brightest.
I began questioning myself. Why did I have to have cancer. Why me god? Why'd I have to suffer?
"Don't think such things ay," A voice said. I turned around, Jimin.
He took a seat next to me on the bench and stared into my eyes. I swore I saw his eyes sparkled. After a few seconds of staring, I was the first to look away, blushing a deep root red.
"What four plus four?" he asked randomly, staring deeply at the night sky.
"one thousand and fifty-five." I said sarcastically.
He gave me a serious look and I immediately said eight.
"Whats you plus me?"
I widened my eyes and replied, "Hell"
"No, fate."
I frowned. "Well I better get going, you should head back to rest." He said and got up, waving me a goodbye and walking off.
Four plus four is eight.
You plus me is fate.
Wait.
Damn those pickup lines.
