"Can I court you?" I asked, holding one stem of red rose in my hand.

Her emotions wasn't visible on her innocent face. Blessie took a step back matapos niyang makita ang hawak ko. "I-Ilayo mo nga sa 'kin 'yan."

Shoulder length hair, pale white skin paired with deep black orbs, that's the definition of the girl I love; Blessie. She's just an average type of girl, but I can't help myself from falling for her simplicity.

I met her in the hospital after my mother got confined because of her kidney problem. Sadly, her body is too weak for her to handle it and she passed away. The despair that I felt towards my deceased mother slowly disappeared after my feet stop in front of a certain room. There I saw her, the one that I admire.

It became my hobby to visit her every day, but I never show myself to her. I only drop one flower in front of her door before knocking and hiding behind the walls. And it sometimes pains me whenever she ask the nurse to throw it in the trash bin.

But it never stopped me to show her how much she means to me.

"Bakit? Hindi mo ba nagustuhan—" She immediately shrieked after I handed her the flower.

"Hindi, kaya umalis kana! Leave me alone!" Her loud voice that rang through my ears paused when the door sprung open.

"Excuse me, Sir. Bawal po nating istorbohin ang pasyente." It was too late for me to complain nang hawakan nila ang balikat ko at inilabas sa kwarto.

D*rn it.

"You, again?" She creased her eyebrows. "Bakit ba lagi kang nandito?"

I smiled and replied, "Like what I've said, I'll court you."

"Pinayagan ba kita?"

"Does it matter?" I took out the flower from my back at inilagay sa vase na katabi ng kama niya. "Niligawan kita kasi gusto ko."

"Gusto mo nga, eh, p'ano kung ayaw ko?" Humalukipkip ito. So cute.

I chuckled at bahagyang tumunghay para makatapat ito. Umatras naman ang mukha niya. "Nothing can stop me, neither do you, Blessie. Even if you won't allow me to court you—not yet said, but already given— liligawan pa rin kita sa ayaw at sa gusto mo. Kaya nga nanliligaw para makuha ka, isn't that what courting really means?"

"F-Fine." Lumalim ang gatla ng kanyang noo. "P-P'ano mo nalaman ang pangalan ko?"

Ngumiti ako bago umayos nang tayo. "Let's just say, I am bound to know you." I extended my hand. "Waze nga pala."

I say, hindi naging madali ang makuha ang loob ni Blessie. Masungit siya, sobra. She never even bothered to tell me the reason kung bakit siya naka-confine rito sa ospital.

"Prutas?" She asked once I came inside her room. "Hindi ba dapat bulaklak?"

Napabungisngis ako. "Hmm? Sa pagkatatanda ko, huling bigay ko ng bulaklak sa 'yo ay nagalit ka sa 'kin."

Inilagay ko ang prutas na dala ko sa isang tray at tumingin sa kanya.

"Nagsusuklay ka ba?" Tanong ko at kumuha ng suklay matapos makita ang buhaghag nitong buhok. "Ang ganda-ganda ng buhok mo pero hindi ka marunong mag-alaga."

"Ano'ng gagawin mo?" She asked right after seeing the comb I am holding.

"Susuklayan ka," tipid kong sagot.

"No need." "My hair is better the way it is. Hindi na kailangang ayusan pa."

"Really?" My eyebrows raised at tumabi sa kanyang kama. "Nakikita mo ba 'to? Ito? At ito?" I pointed at her tangled hairs.
