Both parties stopped a few meters from each other, guns being pointed at nexus and sizing each other up, although one against five seems quite unfair.
Nexus stood still and calm, showing no hostility.
Even from afar he could already make out one well known fighter who he especially wanted to talk to... Onyx, the very stoic and peaceful leader of the Defenders but the others he couldn't identify.
The one next to him on the left was a pretty young looking man, perhaps a year or two younger than Nexus himself?
Another on the right seemed quite tense and had an angry look on his face.
Next to him stood what seemed to be a giant! This dude must be like over 2 meters tall and was build like a tank! He looked.. scary, admittedly.
And on the far right stood a guy who seemed to be half a meter shorter! It was such a difference Nexus almost laughed but he had to stay serious.
"Identify yourself!" one of the strangers called out.
Kind of confused, Nexus answers back calmy. "Don't you recognize me?"
He may have never seen the others before, but Nexus is quite well known by either side.
"We do recognize the armour but there is no way that you are the original owner! He died months ago supposedly on a battlefield!" this person almost shouted angrily.
"I'VE BEEN DEAD FOR MONTHS!?" Nexus suddenly yelled, making the others jump back in surprise. If he didn't have his helmet on, they could've seen the absolute horror on his face.
Months!? What happened during all this time!? What changed!? Sure he knew some time went by according to the logs back at his old base but this much??
" 'I'? There is no way Nexus could just come back from the dead, stop playing games and identify yourself before we are forced to shoot-"
Onyx layed a hand on the shoulder of this annoying guy and commanded him calmly.
"Prax, we will not shoot anybody until we are sure they actually mean us harm, until then," he looked to Nexus "Let them explain their situation." and with that, the rest lowered their guns."Could you answer us why you're here in the first place?" Onyx asked.
"When I went back to my old base, everyone has apparently left and I saw that as an opportunity to seek you out and join your team Onyx. I've been meaning to join for years but was too afraid of Tronix." Nexus admitted.
"Let's say you truly are Nexus, how can we trust you? You're the SIC of the Oppressors after all! Do you think we'll take you in just because you've been wanting to 'join for years'!?" Prax snapped at him.
"You can't and I understand that. If it makes you feel any better," He quickly took his sword and threw it onto the ground away from him and did the same to two guns he had in compartments and held out his hands.
"I am willing to be your prisoner.""Doesn't mean that we'll trust you!" Prax yells.
Dear Sanctus this 'Prax' guy is getting on his nerves..
Suddenly the young guy spoke up "Hey, calm down and be glad that he's surrendering to us."
"Exacly, Ionix, if you don't mind, please put cuffs on our prisoner and lead him to our cell." Onyx commanded.
"Of course sir." the big guy 'Ionix' answered.
This behemoth of a man is gonna guide him to their cell!? Dear Sanctus, he instantly kinda regretted submitting to them, fearing this 'Ionix' would torture him for information, although he could already trust Prax doing the same except with verbal abuse.
