Once again this is just a fun little chapter that doesn't have anything to do with the main story.

"Aaand it's done!" Dionus called out to Nexus excitedly, walking away from the latest project to admire their work.
In the middle of their small and chaotic lab, stood a round metal ring, approximately two meters tall.
Nexus and Dionus, the two scientists of the Defenders, have been working on a sort of teleportation device that brings you to different timelines and dimensions instead of just locations, by ripping through the fabric of space itself and creating a sort of portal. And finally, after so long, they've finished it and are ready to test it out with some random object.
"Alright, let's turn this baby on!" Dionus impatiently said and pushed a button on a sort of remote that is connected to the ring.
The device started to hum with energy and slowly in the middle, a glowing rip started to form, spreading out until it filled out the entire ring, casting the room in a soft, white glow.
So far it seemed pretty stable and safe to use, at least on a small object like a wrench.
Dionus apparently didn't get that memo.
"Let's go!" Dionus excitedly yelled out and ran through the portal, which immediately started to flicker on and off until it fully fritzed out.
Nexus tried to grab Dionus and come after him but he was too slow and instead, went through and empty frame with no Dionus and a dark lab.
Does this man have no self preservation!? What if a dinosaur met him on the other side!?
But for now, Nexus got more pressing matters..such as getting Dionus back.
"Oh fuck.." Nexus muttered out in slight panic.
First, he's gonna have to tell the team. Second, he has to go and find Dionus. Third, how will he find him!?
Nexus heavily breathed in and out for a while to try and calm himself down before going to the main room.
In the main room, Prax was practicing his hacking skills like usual, Ionix trained with diy dumbells in a corner, Onyx was writing a report and Red was doing his homework next to Onyx at the main table.
No Rax, good, at least he won't be hit over the head with a medkit this time.
Upon entering, everyone looked at Nexus with a calm expression while Nexus was about to shit himself from panic.
"Hey, um..we had this project, right? And we uhh..finished it but Dionus went through andthentheframebrokeandnowhe'sgonebutdon'tworryI'llgethimback! (and then the frame broke and now he's gone but don't worry I'll get him back!)" Nexus nervously forced out, standing completely still in the doorway, hoping the team will brush him off.
"Excuse me, Dionus is what?" Onyx asked, not having understood most of it.
"He..went trough the portal and then it broke..." Nexus cleared up.
Now everyone else had a look of panic.
"Is there a way to get him back?" Onyx asked with urgency.
"I'll uh..find a way." he half promised.
He actually had no idea how he'll get him back.
"I'll get him back, I promise!"
Before anyone could say anything else, he was already on his way back to the lab, thinking about a way to get Dionus back.
