Florencio groaned as he leaned over the toilet and dry heaved again. They had only gotten back from vacation yesterday, and his stomach felt like it was trying to leave through his throat. And on top of that, he was due to get his period any day n-
Oh no.
Could...How long ago was Jory's birthday?
Seven weeks.
Seven weeks from when Florencio had failed to unlock the knife drawer and protect Jory. Seven weeks since Jason had decided to take Florencio's punishment into his own hands, rather than waiting for Pascal.
Florencio still felt so disgusting and unclean after that night.
But he couldn't possibly have...Couldn't possibly be...
"Pascal!" Florencio screams. His chest heaved and his hand wandered up to his face, coming away wet with tears. "Pascal!"
"I'm coming Flores!" Pascal frets as he hurries to the bathroom, carrying a small plate of medicine and a glass of water. "Gosh, this flu must be horrible..."
Setting down the plate and glass, Pascal rushes over to Florencio when he sees him crying, gathering his younger brother into his arms. "Flores, what's wrong? I'm sure you're in a lot of pain, the pills will help a-"
"I-He-I n-need-!" Florencio sobbed, hiccupping and holding Pascal tightly as he wailed. "Jason!"
"You need Jason?" Pascal asks, looking down at his brother. Florencio looked up so fast he could have given himself whiplash.
"No! No, no, no, no, no! Keep him away from me!" Florencio screeched. "He-!"
"Flo, you need to calm down!" Pascal worries. "Take deep breaths. Come on, in for four, hold for five, out for-"
Once again Pascal was cut off when Sela came bounding into the room, sitting protectively next to Florencio. Florencio holds her tightly, making sure not to hurt the thoughtful dog as he hid his face in her fur.
"That's it Flores, you're doing really good." Pascal encourages. "Deep breaths. Feel Sela's fur, isn't it soft?"
"W-When Logan a-and Jory tried to l-leave-" Florencio starts. "J-Jason-!"
Dissolving into another round of tears, Pascal kisses Florencio's forehead. "Take your time."
"I n-need a te-a test." Florencio hiccups. "A..."
His voice dropped to a whisper and more silent tears rolled down his face. "A pregnancy test..."
Pascal looked at him in confusion. before it dawned on him. "...Jason?"
Florencio nods, bursting into tears again.
"But..." Pascal stands, muttering under his breath as he tightly held his arms. "But...He wouldn't do that...He's my friend...He's not like Alex..."
Florencio looks up at him in shock, and begins crying harder.
Pascal looks at him nervously and walks back into the kitchen, leaving Florencio alone with Sela.
Ohh god.
He didn't believe him.
He didn't believe him, and Jason would lie, and then he'd hurt him for telling-
Pascal walks back into the room holding a large, familiar butcher knife.
The one responsible for the large scar on his stomach.
Florencio shuddered, whimpering as he closes his eyes and tries to picture something-anything-better than this.
Warm hands and cold metal touch his palms.
And then Pascal draws his hands away.
His racing heartbeat slowing slightly, Florencio opens one eye.
The knife was in his hands.
And Pascal sat on the edge of the tub watching him.
Florencio stares down at his hands and studies the knife for a bit before pulling himself up, keeping the knife tight in his hands.
"Jason!" Pascal calls. "C'mere!"
Florencio can hear every footstep as Jason walks through the house to the bathroom. Quickly, before Jason walks into the room, he hides the knife behind his back.
"Yeah?" Jason asks, shoving his hands in his pockets. His gaze wanders over to Florencio, and he grins. "Hey, you. You haven't been misbehaving again, have you?"
Florencio shakes his head numbly, stepping towards Jason, his heart racing. Jason's right eyebrow lifts and the corners of his mouth quirk into a smile.
Until Florencio pulled out the knife.
One second was all Florencio allowed himself to revel in the look of fear on Jason's face before he grabbed his shoulder and sunk the blade into his heart.
Jason's mouth gaped open like a fish as he crumples to the ground, and Florencio sobs as he rips the knife out and plunges it into Jason's stomach.
Potter, Seagull, and Koala blip into the room, all holding up scorecards with a ten out of ten. All the ghosts in the house cheer as, finally, Pascal does something right.
Continuing to stab Jason over and over, Florencio doesn't even notice Pascal move next to him and kneel next to him until the knife is gently being pried out of his hands.
"C'mon." Pascal says softly, holding Florencio's hand. "Let's get you cleaned up."
