Dear Evan Hansen,

You'll find that it was something. You were amazing. And I've never seen Anderson look so embarrassed, and you didn't even raise a fist. And I am sure that Zoe feels incredibly touched that you stood up for her :)

But to answer your question, I've had better days. But, let's not talk about that. I've got another question for you!

If you could have any super power, what would it be?

Sincerely,

Lotus.

Evan had practically jumped at the sound of his phone going off. His mind was completely engulfed by the nature book he had Infront of him. It had all manners of trees and flora on it, and he had written notes all around it to try and help find them. So when his phone went off, he nearly sent it flying across the room.

His eyes scanned over the email with a small smile, until he got to the part where they said they've had better days. He wanted to ask, to see if he could help. But they didn't want him too. But is it one of them things where they say they don't want to talk about it, but they actually do?

His mind starts to spiral as he tries to figure it out. He could always asks his mom, but it was something that was so trivial she would probably think he's an idiot for asking. Which maybe he was. Maybe this was something that most people would know how to react too.

He didn't know how long it took him to decide how to reply, and he didn't want to know. Probably too long.

Dear Lotus.

Well I hope you are feeling okay, here if you need to talk... Well, email.

And my super power would be to read people's minds. Make life a hell of alot easier to know what people are thinking. I can never tell.

How about you?

Sincerely,

Evan Hansen.

Evan sent his reply and instead of returning to his book, he found he had another notification. One from Zoe of all people. Which completely shocked him. He wasn't even sure she followed him on Instagram. So he quickly opens it.

ZMurphy234:

Hey Evan, you don't mind talking do you?

EvanHansen:

No of course not, always happy to talk to you :)

Evan felt incredibly stupid as soon as he messaged. It sounded way too clingy and stalkerish. Why did he even say that? She's going to think he's a creep and never talk to him.

ZMurphy234:

Good to know :) it's just alot at home right now. My parents really got into me for ditching school. Weird thing is, Connor stuck up for me. I don't even know why I'm dropping this on you. I'm sorry.

Evan feels his lips perk up at Zoe's reply. She didn't find him weird or clingy. And it seemed that she was in need of someone to talk too, and Evan knew he would do whatever he could do to make her feel better.

EvanHansen:

I'm sorry to hear that, my mom was actually happy I guess about it? She saw me making friends worth ditching school. I doubt she wants me making a habit of it though.

And maybe Connor is trying to make amends? I'm not trying to speak for him or defend his actions, just offering a different perspective.

And don't be sorry. I am more than happy to help anyway I can.
