Gen entered the door to the back-street and was surprised by what lay ahead. The street was flooding with bright summer sunlight, making it look so peaceful. The pavements were blooming with summer flowers in their full glory. It didn't looked a bit like it did from the last time she stepped there. The atmosphere brought a slight smile on her lips. Someone was singing a song in a very sweet voice in a distance and it attracted her like some magnet. She walked in the direction of the song, thinking how much the voice resembles Mathan's.

I was lost and alone

Trying to grow making my way down that long winding road

Had no reason no rhyme

Like a song out of time

And there you were standing in front of my eyes

She could now see a man leaning against a door of a cottage. He had broad shoulders and dark hairs cropped to his skull, he had his back to her and she could feel the ease in how he was singing the beautiful song, making it feel like he means every word of it.

You're the air that I breathe

Girl you're all that I need

And I want to thank you, lady

You're the words that I read

You're the light that I see

And your love is all that I need

Somehow the man had felt her presence as he stopped singing and turned to face her with a crooked smile on his face and a twinkle in his hazel eyes. She caught her breath as she found herself getting lost in those deep mysterious eyes, like always. It was Mathan.

She hopped on him, hugging him tight with her arms around his neck and his around her waist, sweeping her off the ground. She took in the familiar scent of his cologne as she took a breath. She pushed him away as she realized how much things have changed. "Where have you been...?? Do you have any idea how much you scared me....?? Do you even realize what it was like for me, running around wildly, looking for you...?? Do you.......", he shut her up by placing his fingers on her lips, chuckling softly. "The point is just why were you looking for me...?? I've been right in-front of you all this time.... Looking out for you, loving you, protecting you, just like always honey..... & you were wasting your time running around wild.", he pulled out his tongue at her, teasingly and she punched him on his chest playfully. "I was just so0 scared.... You know I can't even think of a life without you.... & I was not able to see you, no matter how hard I tried.....", she could feel the tears forming in the corners of her eyes and so did he, as he pulled her close, holding her shoulders and kissed her eyes. "Sweetheart just because you can't see me anymore doesn't mean I'm not with you.... I'm always with you.... Right in your heart and no matter how hard anyone tries, no one can get me out of there..... No one can make you forget me and what we had.... I love you too much to just slip out of your memories my Genny..... & i'm always going to find a way back to you.....", he said all this so earnestly that she stood on her toes to kiss him. "Promise??", she asked him as they pulled out of there kiss, he smiled at her innocent, almost angelic face, "Promise my sweetheart.... You just take care of yourself and don't ever feel guilty over anything that makes you happy.... Smile my baby, I'm always with you....", he called out as the lights around them became blindingly bright, and she felt his hands slipping away from her shoulders. "Mathan...", she called out as she woke up in her bed.

She looked around herself realizing it was the first morning in two years when she hadn't woken up screaming and crying. Though she had dreamed about the same dead-end street last night as well but the way it was, had changed something inside her. Her mind was still replaying the words he'd said to her, making all the pain and hurt she'd endured in her heart for so long, slip away. For the first time in two years she had woken up with a smile on her lips and peace in her heart. And she knew Zack was the reason behind it.
