Down the Dead-End Street

Rush Hour

"So what have you decided..?? Are you coming back to States with Sam or he has decided to stay back with you...??", Gen askex Anna as they walked towards the college cafeteria where the rest of the gang was waiting for them. It was there last term exam and Gen, Zack, Troy and Sam were suppossed to leave for their hometown back in States. Anna had been living in Nottingham since senior year in high school because her family had to shift. Now when the college was over & it was time for them to go back, Anna was in a dilemna.  

"M coming with you guys...", Anna said breathing a sigh of relief, as if trying to convince herself. 

"Are you sure honey..??", Gen was immediately concerned about her friend because she knew how much her family meant to her. Her father had always been away for his buisness while she was growing up. It wasn't until they transferred here that she was finally able to have a family life and now she had to come with them because she didn't wanted to leave Sam. Gen knew how hard of a decission it really was for her and it clearly showed how much she cared for him, despite everything she said. 

"Yeah 'm sure... & its about time I start living my own life... & how long it really takes to fly from California to here...?? I think I can handle it... It couldn't be that hard, don't you think...?? & besides Kay is here with mom & dad to take care of them... & even Ian doesn't live that far to not be there if they need him... Yeah it'll all workout just fine... I really don't need to worry about anything........", Anna kept mumbling almost like convincing herself, something that she always did when she was worried about something, as they walked into the cafe, while Gen just shook her head, squeezing her friend's hand reassuringly, truly hoping that things would workout for her friend. 

They walked into the cafeteria that was rustling with life. Groups of friends were bidding farewells to each other as the college was ending while others were making new friends with excitement coursing through them for the college life that was just beginning. Excitement, the air in this open air friendly looking cafe was brimming to the top with it. 

"Hey everyone! Sup..??", she greeted her friends excitedly as they reached their usual spot, a corner table near the woods.  

She smacked fists with her friends while Anna shook herself out of her world, looking at everyone with a look of confussion that resembled a lost puppy. 

"Earth to Anna!", Troy waved his hand infront of her face trying to bring her back in the world they were currently in, laughing at her all along. 

Sam shoved him away while taking her in his arms, kissing the top of her head, "Hey babe, whats wrong". 

"oh you know just the usual... Its seriously nothing.. I was just thinking about the our move and all...", she said clearly embarrased now of her spacing out. 

"You know 'm still ready to stay here with you if it makes you happy...", he told her gazing into her eyes, tucking stray hairs behind her ear, making her squirm. She just kissed him. 

Gen was looking at them with the expression of a proud mom. She was so happy for her bestfriend. She'd always wanted someone to take care of her and love her for she was: a sweetheart under the tough & bitter exterior. And Sam was just that. 

"Hey girl... what ya doing...?? Going all goo-goo eyes... whats up with ya...??", Nora slapped her back in an over-enthusiastic attempt at a friendly pat, taking up God knows what accent. 

"oh well nothing... just this & that..", she said while trying to clear her mind. "Can you believe that the college is finally over..!", she said excitedly. 

"oh hell seriously... where did these years go Genny..?? 'M gonna miss it all sooo much...", Nora said instantly feeling pretty gloomy. Even Zack and Troy had joined in there conversation finally leaving thier 'who's cooler' argument aside, while the couple was still lost in world that held no appeal to any of them.
