Chapter 26

I had missed the first half of potions, Severus gave me a quick nod and a small smile as I entered so no one else could see. Quickly I took my place next to Draco and helped him finish his potion as I Wouldn't have enough time to start my own from scratch. I could hear snide remarks being spat at me every once in a while but tried my best to ignore them. Without thinking I glanced over at Harry who to my surprise was already staring at me, I shot him a deadly glare that could kill before Staring back down at the potion "Professor we've finished" said Draco as we added out last ingredient. Getting up from his chair he walked over to us and stared down into our potion and then at the ingredients we used "very good 5 points to Slytherin" I couldn't help but smile at him, "probably learned it from the death eaters" I heard Harry say making me drop the smile and look down at my hands "Shut up Pottah!" Spat Draco getting up from his seat, quickly I got up behind him holding him back "it's okay Draco" "sit down Malfoy" said Snape calmly, Draco shot him a glare his lips pursed as he retook his seat. "Potter" added snape as he took his seat "detention for disrupting my class" I felt gratitude towards Snape as i knew that the real reason Harry was being punished was for his remark towards me. I gave him a light smile and saw him shoot me a wink before returning his attention to his work.

The rest of my classes went fine, I got some rude comments every now and then which made Draco almost beat several people but other than that nothing much happened. It was dinner time now and I was sitting in the great hall with my friends once again trying to avoid everyone else, I was deep in conversation with Jade about what had happened to Umbridge when we got interrupted by Billie flying into the Great hall "that's odd, Mail usually comes at lunch time?" Said Blaise staring up at the owl who slowly soared down and sat on my arm. There's no way Bella could have written me back already I just sent it "bet it's from her mum" came a voice from across the hall, "I'll be right back" and so I left the great hall with the letter clutched tightly in my hand. Once I was out of sight in my dorm I sat on my bed and opened the letter.

"Hello darling,
The dark lord would like to meet with you in the summer holidays, he has not decided when. I'll see you tomorrow at Malfoy Manor for the summer.

"Charming" I said aloud rereading the letter. I only had a couple more weeks or days before I'd have to be a death eater. No longer being hungry I chose not to return to the great hall that night but to remain in my dorm worrying about what was in my near future until sleep finally found me.

After breakfast the next day I headed straight to Dumbledores office, keeping my promise I had made to him about letting him know if I heard anything about the meeting. "fizzing whizbees" i announced remembering the password Dumbledore had used the day before and watched as the gargoyle sprung to life and jumped to the side allowing me to enter. Quickly I ran up the moving steps and knocked on the door, "come in" came his voice from inside and so I quickly burst into his office quite surprised at who stood in front me "sorry professor, could I speak to you for a moment" I asked Dumbledore but keeping my stare fixated on snape "of course, just a moment" he said now turning on snape who was staring right back at me with a confused stare "do you understand what you must do?" "Yes sir" "well then, we will talk soon. Thank you Severus" and with one nod at Dumbledore and another confused glance at me Sev left the room. "Now what do you wish to tell me" started Dumbledore once the door closed behind Severus. "I have to meet him in the summer holidays, he didn't say when" the smile that was on Dumbledores face when I entered the room was definitely gone now, he looked concerned "well, that certainly came sooner than I expected... how do you feel?" How did I feel? I was scared of course but for some reason I wasn't dreading it as much as I thought I would be now that I knew when it was coming "I'm okay" was all I could think to say, giving Dumbledore an unconvinced look "considering you stay at Malfoy manor for summer it won't be a problem getting you to the meeting. Will you please owl me once the meeting has been held" he asked staring at me with his twinkling eyes through his spectacles. I didn't understand why but they were only comforting in a moment like this "yes, sir" "alright then, you may go" and with that I headed for the door stopping in my tracks as he said one more thing "and skye, just don't worry to much" "thank you professor" and so I left his office and got on with my day, the thought of becoming a death eater still lingering in my mind making it difficult to concentrate.

During dinner I couldn't help but notice the concerned glances snape kept giving me and couldn't help but wonder if Dumbledore had told him about my becoming a death eater. I wished he wouldn't as i had a feeling that snape wouldn't take it lightly which would not make it any easier. I took one more glance at the staff table to see that he was no longer there. Disappointed I looked down at my food no longer participating in the conversation that my friends were having. "Mhm" someone cleared their throat behind me making me look up at them "Miss Forbes, may I speak to you for a moment" "uh yeah sure" i said as i got up and followed Severus out of the great hall, ignoring my friends confused glares after us. Almost running to keep up with Severus' large steps I didn't talk, he seemed cold towards me, maybe it was just to maintain the teacher act but something still seemed off. After what feit like an eternity we finally got to his classroom, he held the door open for me to walk in before closing it hard and walking over to his desk "sit" he demanded and without hesitation I sat down in front of his desk "I want you to be honest with me" "okay?" I questioned confused on what he meant "you are hiding something from me and I do not care for it." "I'm not hiding anything from you!" I answered growing more confused now "oh your not? Running out of my classroom, getting mysterious letters and having secret meetings with Dumbledore?" He was being serious, he actually seemed genuinely mad about this "I'm not having secret meetings with Dumbledore?" I decided to ignore his other to statements as I didn't really know what to say to them "well clearly they aren't very open as he refused to tell me what they are about!" "Maybe that is because it's none of your business!" I instantly regretted saying that, his face grew dark at my words "anything that has to do with you is my business!" he spat leaving me quite speechless."All of this just makes me think" he continued "that there must be something going on with you and Mr. malfoy" "what?! Your mental!" I spat getting up from the chair "he's always around you! And it would explain your coldness and your sneaking around in the last two days!" He got up as well towering over me. "HES MY COUSIN YOU IDIOT!" I screamed furious at the fact that his jealousy came to this. He looked at a loss for words clearly realizing his mistake; "I-" "You know what Severus."
I started interrupting him "If you want to be with me you are going to have to work out those pathetic trust issues if yours! I cant deal with this right now and this relationship isn't going to work if you don't trust me" i said somewhat normally trying not to yell at him, and with that I turned in my heel and walked out of the classroom practically boiling of anger.

I marched into my dorm and banged the door shut groaning "woah what happened to you?" Asked jade staring at me confused "Nothing" I snapped as I sat down on the bed "well clearly it's not nothing" chuckled aylin as she sat down on the bed "what did Snape want you for?" "Oh uhm, he just wanted to ask me if I was going to take advanced potions. that's all" I saw Aylin and jade give each other a weird glance before returning their attention back to me "so he pulled you out of the great hall just to ask you that?" "Cmon skye what did he really want? To tell you how baddddd you are for crushing on him" giggled jades but stopped as she saw my facial expression "Oh my god!" She squealed "NO of course he didn't" but I could already feel myself growing hot "ARE YOU GUYS A THING?" Screamed Aylin "oh scream it louder why don't you" I answered irritated "SO YOU ARE!" Whisper screamed jade excitedly "no!" I snapped getting up from the bed to avoid their gaze "she's lying" said Aylin "I know" added jade walking over to me "come on skye you can tell us" she added turning me around to face her "yeah we won't judge you!" Added aylin "okay fine!" I whisper yelled at them making them freak out at me "YOUR DATING A TEACHER?" "Holy shit how did it happen?" "when did it happen?" "have you fucked yet?" is he a good kisser?" So I explained my whole love story with snape from beginning to the fight we had just had "he thinks your dating Draco?" Asked Jade shocked "that's mental! Isn't he your cousin?" added aylin "Yes! his trust issues are insane" I grew sad thinking of the fight and how I said that the relationship wasn't working like this. I didn't want the relationship to end especially not now "don't worry skye I'm sure it'll work out" Aylin put her arm around me in comfort "yeah it's just a fight every couple has them" agreed jade as she too put her hand in my shoulder. The rest of the night we talked about snape and I made sure to explain everything in lots of detail...
