Chapter 19

Narrator's POV

Somin was getting out of her car, grabbing her bag along. Her eyes squinted as the sun glared onto her face. It was about 10am when she arrived to the building where the filming of Running Man take place.

Her phone rang, indicating her manager. "Oh, Somin. Are you here? I told you that I could've fetched you," Mr Kim asked. "I'm heading in right now. And that's nonsense, I'm fine driving by myself," Somin reassured him.

"Alright, alright. See you in a minute, then," He hung up after she replied an 'okay'. She quickly head into the building and walked in her waiting room, with her manager and her stylists already present.

She glanced at the clock while her stylists styled her outfit and her hair. It was already 10 55am. 5 minutes to go. Somin exhaled, her mind wandering to Jongkook. They had talked about taking it slow and wasn't ready to inform any of the members. Therefore, they promised to act normally as they always do infront of the cameras.

After all, they are professionals. "Somin-ssi!" A staff called her. "Yes, I'm going!" Somin replied. She muttered a 'thank you' to her stylists before heading off to the set.

Jongkook's POV

I walked into the set, already seeing Jaeseok hyung, Sukjin hyung, Haha and Sechan with the camera already rolling. "Oh, Jongkook-ssi!" Jaeseok smiled widely upon my arrival, with a playful tone as always. I shooked my head and pat his back.

"What's with your outfit today, hyung?" Sechan asked, indicating my pastel pink sweater and black knee-length pants. It wasn't a colour I'd always wear. So, I expected that reaction.

I chuckled. "I don't know. I just threw on the first shirt that caught my eye," I answered jokingly. Sechan scoffed. At that moment, Kwangsoo, Somin and Jihyo head into the set, chattering away already.

Something Kwangsoo said made Somin laugh out loud, her hand slapping his arm repeatedly before calming down. Kwangsoo, on the other hand, clasped a hand on her shoulder and let out a laughter at their joke or whatever it was. Jihyo only laughed softly, shaking her head.

I felt myself look away before I realised it. I thinned my lips, feeling rather unpleasant. What was this feeling called again?

Ah, jealousy. How lovely.

Narrator's POV

The cameras were rolling and as usual, the Running Man members had a small conversation before starting their mission. Everything was going well and although, Somin and Jongkook had promised to keep it cool, Jongkook always used the opportunity to get closer to her.

He'd stand beside her or tried to, until Kwangsoo came into the picture and teased her purposely. He'd also try and secretly poked her by her side, enjoying her glares and her blushing cheeks.

Thankfully, he knew no one would notice these secret moments since the members had been enjoying teasing him and Jihyo. He'd glanced Somin for her reactions but all she did was maintain a smile. "She really is an actress, isn't she?" Jongkook thought.

He awkwardly played along as always, just smiling nervously and denying their allegations of Jihyo and him always wanting to be by each other's side. He'd laughed, knowing damn well he was trying to get to Somin's side, instead of Jihyo's.

In the bus, he sat beside Somin. When asked why by Haha, since he was surprised that they've gotten close, Jongkook shrugged it off and gave an excuse that he's her guide.

Haha was suspicious but put it off his mind when the producer suggested to play a game, on the way to their destination. Jongkook, Somin, Jaeseok and Haha was sitting in the backseat, leaning forward to hear the instructions.

"Why are you sitting beside me suddenly?" Somin whispered, covering her mic casually so that no one, including the audio director, would hear their conversation. Jongkook glanced at her action and followed.

"Why can't I? It's not like I've never sat next to you in this bus," Jongkook whispered back, leaning closer to her as Jaeseok was beside him. "We're not in the same team, oppa," She pointed it out.

"You don't want me to sit with you?" Jongkook childishly argued. Somin laughed softly. "No, I don't. Your habit of shaking your leg against mine, doesn't help either," She looked down at his right leg that was shaking.

He stopped shaking his leg and touched his ear in embarrassment. "So.." Jongkook trailed off. "So?" She continued. "How are you? I didn't get to talk to you, seeing that you were beside Kwangsoo the whole time," He added, leaning his head onto the backseat. Somin smiled at his words.

"And what about it? You don't like it?" She teased. Jongkook rolled his eyes with a small grin. "I'm fine, of course. Although, considering that a guy I like hasn't figure out his feelings," Somin playfully said.

Jongkook licked his lower lip, crossing his arms. "I'm joking, oppa," She quickly added, not wanting Jongkook to feel pressured. "I know. It's not that I haven't figure my feelings out. It has just been some time," He explained, looking at her.

"Really?" Somin was delighted to know that he had figure his feelings out. She faced him entirely, shocked at how close his face was as his head was tilted to face her.

She backed away, leaning her head onto the window to avoid closer contact with Jongkook. He snickered and abruptly placed a hand on her knee to tease her. Her head snapped back to him with wide eyes. "Are you crazy?" She mouthed and pushed his hand away gently.

He smirked and let out a chuckle, patting her knee once more before pulling away. Somin just shooked her head and leaned onto the window again, staring outside. He looked forward and was surprised when he met eyes with Kwangsoo.

One of Kwangsoo's eyebrows were raised. Jongkook gulped down his saliva and fidgeted in his seat, looking away from him. It was not helping that Kwangsoo was sitting infront of them, with Jihyo by his side.

"What the-" Kwangsoo's word got cut off with Jongkook shaking his head desperately. Somin felt his hair rustling against his seat and looked at Jongkook with a confused expression. "What are you shaking your head for?" Somin asked.

Jongkook cleared his throat. "Nothing, just Kwangsoo being annoying as usual," He lied, making Kwangsoo scoff in disbelief. Kwangsoo obviously wanted to say something about what happened but decided to talk about what he intended to say to Jongkook.

Sorry for the late update! I've just been brainstorming and yeah, it's been hard. I also apologise for this short chapter! It's pretty dull ngl but I promise a better one in the next chapter^^
