Chapter 08: Visiting The Brat's Mansion

Nobody's POV

After Gon blew up at Illumi for what he did to Killua, he looked around. "By the way, I haven't seen Kyoki since I got knocked out, where is she?" He asked.

Kurapika sighed "I saw her leave, she probably got her Hunter License and went to do whatever it was she got it for" he said. Gon looked sad "Really?...I was hoping she'd stay..." He said, sounding dejected.

Then he lifted his chin "Right now we need to find Killua, let's go look up that mountain" he said, and the three of them took off to find Killua's residence.

Kyoki was intact, taking the over land route to the very place. She'd been thee a few times before when doing jobs with the Zoldyck family, and knew it well.

It took her a few days to run the distance. When she got there a tour group was gasping ms taking pictures of the gates.

Kyoki couldn't help herself. In front of everyone there, she walked up to the doors and kicked them open.

Up to the third door opened and she clicked her tongue "I managed the 4th last time..." She muttered.

After taking a moment to enjoy the faces of the shocked tourists, she entered. Waving to the guard man before the massive gates closed behind her.

Sighing she started up the mountain. Mike intercepted her half way, and she glared him down, then scratched behind his ears.

She laughed "I don't normally like dogs but you are adorable!" She said, rubbing under his huge chin.

While she sat on his big furry back, a figure dressed in the formal wear of the Zoldyck's butler came from the shadows.

Kyoki looked up and saw the man, but didn't recognize him. He bowed "Kyoki-dono, would you kindly follow me to the butler's residence" he said.

It was worded as a question, but there clearly wasn't actually an option no. Kyoki shrugged and hopped off Mike, who raised his head at something and took off in the direction of the gates.

Kyoki liked Mike because he wasn't affected by things such as emotions. turning she followed the solemn man to the butler's mansion.

Once there she was greeted by Gotoh, the head butler. She waved, grinning. "Yo, it's been a while since I kicked your butt huh?" She said.

In this case she was referring to her last encounter with the serious butler. Needless to say it hadn't been a friendly meeting.

It had ended in a mutual, if grudging respect for each other. That had been 5 years ago.

Gotoh bowed "Kyoki-dono, we had not been informed you were coming, not of your...appearance" he said. Kyoki shrugged, a bit irked by the last bit.

"Yeah, I came uninvited this time, I have business at the main mansion" she said. Gotoh stiffened, probably thinking she'd finally been hired to take out one of the Zoldycks.

Even though they'd worked together multiple times, assassins didn't form bonds like other people. And since Kyoki stood essentially on equal ground with most of the Zoldycks, they'd always figured she'd eventually be hired by someone with a grudge to take one of them out.

She raised a hand "It's not what your thinking, I simply want to see the young Zoldyck brat" she stated. Gotoh's stance didn't waver, infact his eyes narrowed. "What buisness do you have with Killua-sama" he said.

Kyoki stared him down, her gaze icy "It's none of yours what buisness I have with him butler" she said. Gotoh stiffened and his back became a steel rod. "Very well Kyoki-dono, I will have to recieve permission from the main house before I can allow you to go further, please wait here while I cantact Kyoko-sama" he said, bowing.
