Chapter 05: The Stupidly Tall Tower.

After waving goodbye to Gon and Killua, I turned and saw Kurapika and Leorio. I walked over "You guys know where the sleeping quarters are?" I asked.

Kurapika nodded "Yeah, we're just heading over there" he said. And that was the moment a certain annoying man decided to further delay my rest.

He was short and overweight, and I vaguely thought I remembered him from somewhere. I zoned out, trying to remeber, so I only just heard him say something about the test maybe not being over, and how we should stay vigilant.

I laughed "You think they'll try something while we sleep?" I said, grinning. "Y-yeah" he stuttered, surprised by my question. I chuckled darkly as I walked off "I'd rather enjoy that. I'm not a very nice person when I'm woken".

After a while I chose an out of the way corner, sat down, and nodded off. When I awoke Sun was streaming through the window above my head.

I squinted and got up. I stretched and peered out said window, curious. I saw something far in the distance, and as we got closer, I made out what it was just as a voice came over the speaker.

"Will all Hunter Exam applications gather in the main area please. I shook my head "No way, don't tell me the exam is going to be on that stupidity tall tower" I muttered, and sighed, knowing it probably was.

Sure enough, we were all deposited on the towers wide, flat top. They explained that we had 72 hours to make it to the bottom, and left us there in the noon sun.

I walked to the edge and peered over "This really is an extremely stupidly tall tower" I said again. Gon, Killua, Kurapika and Leorio jogged up to me "Hey Kyoki, what are you doing?" Gon asked.

I gestured "Enjoying the fabulous view, what else" I said with a strait face. Killua grunted at my sarcasm as Gon continued "Have you found any ways to get down from here?" He asked.

I looked over the edge again "Thch...yeah". Gon looked worried "We can't go over the edge, some guy just got eaten trying to do that" Killua said.

I grinned "Oh Dandelion darling, your comparing me to one of these morons?" I said, gesturing to those around us. Killua glowered at the use of my nickname for him, but Gon shook his head.

"It's impossible to make it down alive, with the drop and those things" he said. My grin got wider "Challenge accepted!~" and with that, I stepped back and off the tower, enjoying the looks of horror that flashed across all their faces.

With a cheery wave, I plummeted downwards at ever rising speed, but it still took me forever to reach the bottom. I had time to kill a few of these weird demon baby things -I always knew babies were evil- and even take out the small book I had in my back pocket to do some reading.

Bored, I started doing tricks in mid air. Flipping, twirling, pretending I was flying -hey, you would have too, don't question the mind of the insane!- and stuff like that.

When the ground finally got close enough for me to start considering how to land, I was played out. With a crash my feet hit the ground, a shock wave radiating out and the ground for about 5 feet in either direction forming a crater 6 feet deep.

I scrambled out, unharmed, and annoyed at how hard it was for me to get out with my reduced height. After finally emerging and dusting off my clothes, I looked up into the lense of a camera.

"I didn't actually expect anyone to make it down like that" a voice coming from a speaker set bellow the camera said. I shrugged "Well I did soooo what now, I made it to the base within 72 hours didn't I?" I said.

"True, the fact you accomplished that should be enough to let you pass..." He started. I sighed "But it isn't , is it?" I asked, annoyed. "Correct, to pass you must find a way into the tower, and to do so, you have to make it past...her" the voice said.
