"Mr. Stark? What's up with you calling? Not that I mind, I don't, really! It's just, it's always a surprise to hear from you and you're like really busy with your big business and saving the world that surely you won't have time for a teenager like me, right?"

"Kid." He drawls. They've really gotta work on his self-esteem. No child should have that.

"Right, uh, sorry, I just, I don't want to be like those "pick me because I'm lonely and am in need of attention." People but-"

'Mr. Stark. Are you alright? Did something happen? Do you need me to come over and keep you company? I don't want what happened last time to happen again."

Tony exhales tiredly, his episode of panic that felt like it would go on for years and years having used every ounce of energy he had stored in his body, which says something because Tony's always moving around, wether it's doing some paperwork for Pepper or twinking with the kid's web shooters.

Speaking of a certain spider boy, Tony looks at the time.

11:00PM

Had time passed that quickly?!

"Have you started your patrol yet?"

"Uh, no, I was gonna just head out before you called."

The line is silent before Peter's voice filters once again.

"Would you like me to come over once it's done?"

"What, missing me already?"

"I always miss you, Mr Stark. You're like the best."

"Yeah yeah, go hurry up."

"And be safe!" He demands.

"No promises, Mr Stark!" With that, the boy hangs up and Tony is left feeling lighter than before.

"Friday, get Karen to look after him, don't want a call from an angry hot aunt." He mumbles, rubbing his eyes gently.

His eyes stray down again, the message from one Stephen Strange blaring as if to taunt him. Looking back at it post panic, it was a silly way to act.

He just couldn't help the sheet panic that paralysed his body, kick starting an adrenaline rush as his body got itself ready for a fight that never came.

"Not over me yet, are you Stark?"
