December 1: deep thoughts (fluff)

"There were so many people out there. You chose me. Why?"
"You know very well why."
There are things in the world that you know without knowing how. Instinct they call it. Shikatani wonders why he's worth it. Itome chose him, instead of the great fucks out there that could be a perfect match for him.
It is believed that there is something in all of us. A magnet. It draws the good people closer to you, but the force of soulmates being attracted to each other is much stronger than ever. The love there is sincere. Not forceful. No sane in the head person would force themselves onto their soulmate. Shou and Shikatani, they aren't destined to be. At least, in this whole stupid ludicrous theory, they aren't. It's just so pure, so loving, so innocent, it's not meant to be-
"Shika-chan?"
Itome looks up, wide purple eyes resting on the neko. That was a routine, not much communication needed between the two, like a secret. Shikatani feels an inexplicable attraction to Itome as he looks down at the tachi, almost magical. It's not possible. It's meant to be. Rejection had become all too familiar with Shikatani, a black bug scuttling around in him once there was any sort of provocation. scuttle, scuttle. When it awakens, it's much harder to tame. scuttle, scuttle.
As if Itome can read Shikatani's mind, he reaches over and strokes the neko's hair. "Don't hold back, you're worth it."
That strikes a note in the neko's heart as he sits up straight, blinking firmly. "No- that's not true. You know it."
He gets up to leave as Itome abruptly pulls him down.
"Shika-chan, I'm sorry to say this, but you of all people should know about knowing something." Shikatani's heart jolts slightly as the unusual firmness of Itome's normally soft and inaudible voice hits him.
"Why do you think i have chosen you over those people who have been all too satisfied to label me as their "significant other"?"
All english fails Shikatani as he shakes his head. "N-no, i don't know. Why?"
"Because you are worth it. Believe me. Believe in yourself. i'm telling the truth."
Incredulous, Shikatani stares down at Itome, who kisses him hard on his lips. The world seems to stop rotating for that one second, still and quiet around both boys.
When Itome pulls away, Shikatani can feel his cheeks burning. "I-I don't, i think i should go, I-"
Itome pulls him down and kisses him. "No. I want to stay."
If Itome felt that way, then, luckily for him, Shikatani felt that way too.
