"Wow, it's a giant fish!"
The fish pulls Shikatani's line up, revealing its lime-green body full of deep turquoise scales that glimmered in the evening sunlight.
"Mm...good job, Shika-chan..."
Itome nodded and praised Shikatani wholeheartedly, blushing as he did so. He pressed an affectionate, encouraging kiss to Shikatani's cheek as he did so, stroking his head and hugging him with the other hand.
The time for the yearly school-wide camp had arrived and the time before dinner could be spent however it pleased the students. Some were playing and splashing in the cold icy river, others were catching crabs and the rest had the same idea as Itome and Shikatani did that evening-spending the free time fishing.
Shikatani fingers the large, elegant fish, feeling his fingers sliding and slipping over the smooth sapphire scales before putting it away inside a box. "My turn now, Shika-chan..." Itome pulls the fishing rod away from Shikatani, dipping it into the clear water. For a moment the rod disappears underwater, then a tugging on the rod was felt. Pulling the rod up with childish excitement and expectancy, Itome was disappointed to find a large grey plastic bag dripping with muddy water hanging on the edge of the rod instead of the typical fish. Shikatani giggled. "You always miss, Ito-chan. Let me show you how it's done." Itome huffed and twisted the fishing rod out of Shikatani's reach, pouting at his boyfriend. "Let me try again! Please, Shika-chan~" he whined softly, nuzzling against Shikatani's shoulder.
The rod once again disappeared into the depths of the waters, when suddenly, another tug, just as strong as the previous one, was felt on the rod. Itome bounced up and down excitedly as he tugged on the fishing rod. He squealed in excitement as a fish appeared, "Look, Shika-chan!!" Shikatani was about to turn around when the fish realised it was being held captive and desperately dragged Itome underwater. Itome cried out as Shikatani held onto his hand, trying to pull him back up. The impact sent the two underwater as they tried to rise above the water surface, pulling the fish back up.
When they finally reached dry land, Shikatani was ultimately gratified to see Itome. Shikatani squeezed Itome as hard as he could, nuzzling against him the same way Itome had nuzzled against him just a while ago. Itome petted Shikatani in response and kissed him before he whispered,
"if i fall, i'm going to drag you down with me."
