29 december: tips when you have a crush! (talktime)

hello everyone!
so i have just developed a big crush on someone so i decided to write this chapter especially since i know that my readers are most likely around 10-14 (you can read more about my targeted age audience at the end!) and that is the age when most people start to develop crushes on others. i decided to share some tips on it!

1. accept yourself.
now, i know that there are some lgbtq+ people involved in this app, me included. but do understand that it is important to accept yourself. i have a crush on a girl and am a girl myself(if you did read the author's note in the above chapter). more importantly, learn to accept the fact that you have a crush, know you are madly in love with someone, and move on with it.
2. play it cool and natural.
don't sell your soul to impress your crush! a crush is there for you to love, not for you to impress. if he or she is any kind of lady or man then they should love you no matter who you are and not get turned on by impression. if they do and you find that tires you out then he or she isn't the one for you.
3. don't chase them
this was said from experience! i used to have two crushes and i chased them constantly although they made it plain that my love was unrequited and to this day they are still traumatised by me 🥲. i have a good s/0 now and a healthy crush on someone online. just make sure not to scare whoever your crush is away from you! you'll end up pushing them away completely.
4. is it okay to have a crush while having a significant other?
yes, it is completely fine if you have a crush WHILE having an s/o! as i have said before, a crush is there for you to love. it's completely ok if you love two people at the same time. it doesn't mean that you're doing anything wrong in the relationship itself or that you're cheating on the other person. just make sure that nothing happens with the thirdwheel in your relationship, unless you're looking for a threesome/polyamory relationship.
5. what if a crush is taking over my life?
if a crush is controlling your life and you are going out of your way to impress them, try to see your idol in a different light asap! i'm not saying to stuff down your feelings or sweep your issues under the carpet, but do it step by step. maybe your crush won't seem as attractive to you later? study their personality carefully, and if you're lucky and your crush has had several partners before you, then try to talk with his or her previous partners. don't be afraid to open up to topics that are slightly explicit, but of course, they have to be consented by both parties to talk about.
6. what if my crush is not attractive to me anymore?
firstly, analyse! is the romantic attraction gone or the sexual attraction gone? romantic attraction refers to love, in general that would be described by many as "wholesome". sexual attraction refers to what the label "horny" is, which means that you may not be driven to have sex with that person. loss of both is ok, it doesn't mean that you're a bad person! most importantly is making way for couple time. remember, don't take the other for granted-you may just never see that person again someday.
