december 9: comforting(fluff/itome x akemi)

"Mmm...i keep yawning...i think i'll go to bed..." said Akemi dreamily as he snuggled down into the sheets and switching off the lamp. "goodnight..."
What he didn't know was that when he was safe under the sheets, that was when the darkest hour for the man lying down beside him started.
The darkness all around Itome was scary. What if something happened, what if a kidnapper burst into the room, what if the roof caved in, what if-
What if he couldn't see anything? What if somebody hurt Akemi in the darkness? That would be all his fault. It was his fault, he was supposed to take care of Akemi, what if he failed, what if it was his fault, he was scared, he couldn't see anything, he couldn't protect-
Itome didn't realise that he was crying hard until the tear slipped off his cheek and he began sobbing in earnest, his body rocking with every cry. He couldn't hear the light snap on or the soothing voice calling out to him over his own crying, but he could feel warm slender arms wrapping over his torso, arms that could only belong to one person.
"ssh, come here...." akemi cooed softly.
akemi stroked itome's hair, kissing him all over and cuddling him close. "shh, it's all gonna be okay..."
somehow, this made itome cry even harder causing akemi to rock him and hold him tighter. "aww...my poor baby..."
akemi sniffed at itome's hair and held his hand.
next thing itome knew, he was snuggled up in bed with akemi cuddling him and nuzzling into his hair.

(a/n i know this is a itoshika fanfic, and i'm so sorry if itokemi is your trigger ship :( because on ao3 the only fanfiction about itokemi is not centred around itokemi itself or it's based off a toxic relationship. this is what i think itokemi would be in future, i hope you enjoyed 💜 -hu tao)
