"Can you come over today?"
George ignored the fondness in Dreams voice as it played through the phone and into his ears. He sat on his bed, listening to the voice messages Dream was sending.
"Please? Nicks being a dick!" He pleaded desperately. He was quickly cut off by Sapnap yelling, followed by the call cutting out.
Cant :( George sent, looking at the message.
He watched as the chat bubble automatically popped up, and smiled. What a fast replier. His smile only grew as he read over the message Dream sent. But i miss you what the hell ;(
"Dork." He mumbled, setting down his phone. He wasnt allowed to say the reason why and honestly, he really did not want to.
He slowly crept over to his door and opened it. Muffled yells and hushed cursing greeted him. Nadine stood in her doorway, looking in the direction of the stairs. Her arms folded over her chest, seeming to hug herself.
"Hey," George whispered to her. Her head turned towards him as he spoke up again, "Are they still mad?"
"I swear i didnt tell them," She whispered back, frowning. "I dont even know how they knew."
George shrugged, sliding down his doorway to sit. "Probably a camera somewhere in the house or outside. Cant believe they grounded me over it."
"Over a boy who you arent even dating..." Nadine came over and sat down across from him. She nudged his knee, smiling. "They catch you guys have a moment or something?"
"No," George shook his head. "We were just laying in bed together, talking. But hes... Dreams touchy. I guess we started to cuddle while i was talking about therapy stuff and dad just, he barged in my room."
The two fell silent when the yelling was no longer muffled. They moved from the office to an open area. Georges name, his dead name came out of their mouths more than anything.
It made him want to throw up.
"George," Nadine spoke up, smiling softly at him. "Things will turn out okay."
"Wish theyd stop." He leaned his head up against the doorframe, closing his eyes.
"She— hes old enough to know!" His mom yelled from the kitchen.
His dad let out a bitter laugh. "She doesnt even know her gender!"
That one struck right through his heart. Right when George thought his dad was coming around, he says something cruel. All that effort wasted.
George stood, walking into his room. He grabbed his old school bag and began shoving clothes in it. He ignored the ever growing burning sensation in his eyes, and began to blink away the tears.
Fuck it.
"George, dont." Nadine called from the door, she was no longer whisering.
His arms moved mechanically. In he shoved a charger, his Testosterone gel tubes, socks, underwear, pants, and shirts. He zipped it up, and grabbed his laptop bag.
"Move." He begged Nadine, who stood in his doorway. "Nadine, dont make me move you."
"Try me."
He grabbed her shoulder, and shoved her with ease. He used to struggle when play fighting with her. Things changed.
He changed.
"George!" Nadine chased him down the stairs. The ones that led directly into the kitchen.
Their parents fell silent as they watched their son pass by with two bags, without a single word to them.
He didnt bother closing the door behind him. Only shoved in his airpods, and ran.
