George stayed in his room a lot for Thanksgiving. He wasnt big on the holiday enough as it is, and it didnt help family was here that didnt quite like him. It wasnt a type of dislike where they had done something to another, they were simply transphobic.

His cousin decided to sleep in Nadines room with her instead of with him, he was okay with that, though. George stood by his door, listening as they talked in the kitchen.

His aunt never had anything good to say about him. She wasnt confused about him, she just hated him. George was nothing but nice to her, and she always tried to make his life a living hell.

Nadine and Landon got along really well. George envyed how close they always were, so it was so surprise he was in favor of sharing a room with her instead of him.

George missed Sapnap. He wanted to call and beg for the two idiots to come pick him up. For them to go somewhere and eat out for Thanksgiving.

It wasnt like he celebrated this holiday, anyway. Why did it matter if he were here?

He crept down the stairs, bracing himself for the hell that was yet to come. His mom and aunt were in the kitchen together, laughing and talking while finishing up cooking.

"George!" His mom beamed as she saw him. "Hi, sweetie. Could you help out?"

"With what?" He asked, coming to her side.

Aunt Cassie raised her eyebrows at him. "Wow, your voice has gotten deep."

He glanced at her as she took a sip of her wine. "Thanks."

His mom handed him a large plate filled with deviled eggs. "Table, please."

He nodded, leaving the two to set the food down in the next room. George ignored the small snicker Cassie breathed out as he passed by her, and decided to be the bigger person.

Georges mom loved this holiday, he wasnt going to ruin it for her by making a fuss over some old hag who was too stupid to understand him.

He set up the table in silence. He decided he was going to sit across from his sister, with his mother by his side and his dad at the other.

The hag and her demon would be seperated, maybe that could help soften each blow.

For a while, it was working. Cassie was being kind to George, asking about school and how it was going.

"I stayed home because its cheaper," He told her, poking at his plate. "Though i do make it to class on time, if i leave early enough."

Cassie smiled, nodding. "Oh i remember those days. Id advise to get a dorm, its pricey but it is so worth it, trust me."

"Really?" He glanced over at his mom. "Would that be okay?"

"Oh, i dont know..." His mom smiled sheepishly at her wine glass. She took a drink.

Cassie rolled her eyes. "Let your college kid have some college experiences. Its fun!"

"George already has had some," His dad grumbled out, side eyeing him.

"Do tell." Cassie leaned forward, ready for the gossip.

"Dad thought i was hooking up with a guy in my room." George said quickly. He wanted to be the one to tell her before his dad twisted it around. "Hes my friend, we were just laying in bed."

"The guy was clearly into you," His dad shot out, "If nothing was going on then why were you two under the blanket?"

"Because its cold?" George blinked, looking at him. "He was showing me a robot he coded for class."
