Today, the trio decided to go on a little trip together to distract George from the enviable. He couldnt live with them in their dorm, all three of them knew that. He had spent two nights with them. Later on, he'd be going home.

He was scared.

George really didnt want to face his parents. Nadine kept promising they werent upset anymore and even missed him. That didnt help at all.

Dream looked like a kid in a candy store. Technically, he was.

The three of them went downtown to explore a bit, and wound up inside of a candy store. Dream had never been to a place like this. Not that he couldnt, he just never thought of going.

The two were overjoyed with their options. George stayed afar and watched them, deciding M&Ms were good enough for him not too long after they got in here.

"Want more?" Dream asked George, beaming down at him. He had four bags of different candys, and offered them all to him.

George smiled, shaking his head. "No, keep them for yourself. Its okay."

Dream frowned. "Cant i give you some as a special gift?"

"A special gift?" George raised an eyebrow, "Whys it special?"

"Cause youre special to me." Dreams eyes softened as he looked down at George. He handed him the bag of candy, lingering his hand for a moment as it rest over Georges. "I like giving people gifts."

George smiled, glancing down at the bag. "Should i get used to this?"

"Yes." He squeezed Georges hand, and then let go. He didnt hesitate when answering. Dream always sounded so sure of himself, George admired that.

He wanted to be brave like Dream, to be confident and easy going. One day that would happen. Hopefully.

They couldnt stay long. George didnt want to tell them, but he was in excruciating pain. So, he said goodbye to them, and hopped on the tain.

Instead of heading home, he took a little detour. He wound up in a hospital, where he was scolded by transphobic doctors about how unsafe be was for binding the way he did.

"The trains arent running sweetie, you got a way home?"

George turned, looking at the front desk lady. She wore a sad smile when looking at George. It made him want to cry.

"I have a friend i can call," He replied, smiling at her. A friend with a car who was definitely going to yell at him.

"Here, use our phone," She turned the phone that sat on her around for him. She must have heard him earlier when he complained about his phone dying on him.

With a whole lot of regret, he dialed the only phone number easy to memorize.

George sat outside the hospital on the curb. Sure, it would be more comfortable to sit inside, but he thought that was a hate crime waiting to happen.

And anyway, he had to prep himself for being yelled at.

Dream would be disappointed in him. Or worse.

He didnt say a word as the car pulled itself into the parking lot. George only stood, and watched as Dream got out of the drivers side.

He shoved his keys in his hand as he approached, George couldnt help but stiffen.

"Listen. I know wh—" George stopped abruptly when arms wrapped around him tightly.

A hug? Dream was hugging him?

Dream grabbed his face, frowning. "What happened? Are you alright?"

"Im okay," George said lowly, lying right through his teeth. He stepped back, looking up at Dream. "They uh, took my binder from me."

"Why?" Dream frowned, glancing up at the glass doors. "Ill go get it back, wait."

"No," George grabbed his arm, bracing himself. It was now or never. "They took it because i wasnt binding safely. I bruised my ribs and need to take a break from binding for a bit."

"You werent being safe?" Dreams heart practically broke at that.

Guilt washed right over George. He let his hand fall, and nodded. He slowly sat down on the curb. "They uh, i was in such bad pain they gave me a bit of morphine."

Dreams eyes fell back down to George. "It was that bad and you didnt tell us earlier?"

George let out a sheepish laugh. "I wanted to spend time with you guys before i—"

Dream cut him off, his lips laced in venom. "It could kill you if you keep doing that!"

George looked away, wishing the morphine was still in effect. if it was, maybe he wouldnt care so much about him and the fact that this hurt him more than it hurt George.

He shrugged, glancing down at his untied shoes. "What if itll kill me if i dont do it?"

Dream frowned, taking a seat next to him. He nudged George with his shoulder, trying to get the boys attention.

"What happened to your actual binder?" Dream asked him quietly.

George ignored the fact that Dream smelled like cigarette smoke, ( hed scold him for that later, ) and leaned into the arm that wrapped around him so casually.

"My cousin took a pair of scissors to it last time i saw them," He answered quietly. It felt shameful to him. He didnt want to open up like this to Dream, it was embarrassing. "He said some not so great words, and fucked it up."

"Did your mom do anything?"

George shook his head, staring down at his hands. "My mom doesnt know. Theyre coming back tomorrow and staying for a bit."

"At least you can hide in your room."

"Hes going to be sleeping on the futon in my room, actually." George glanced over at Dream. "I dont want to go back there. Hes so..."

"Nicks fucking around at some dorm room tonight, why dont you come stay in his bed?" Dream offered, looking at him.

Gworge raised an eyebrow. "What happened to the fact that i needed to go back?"

"Youre scared though," Dream squeezed his hand, offering a gentle smile. "Come on, you can sleep in my bed. If he comes back, ill just make a palette or something."

"Fine, but ill sleep in his bed. We used to do that in high school, it isnt different now."

Together, they stood. "Isnt it, though?"

George looked at him blankly. "Why would it be?"

Dream watched him silently for a moment, then shook his head. "Nothing, come on. My cars parked over here."

As he follow Dream, guilt washed over him. He wasnt sure why, though. Dream didnt talk as he drove. It took a while to realize it, but George didnt want him to.

The silence said enough.
