"Do you believe in the butterfly effect?" Dream asked, covering his eyes with his sunglasses.
George ignored the Mr Cool look and shrugged, poking st the sand. "I think its a little dumb."
The decided to spend their evening watching the sun set together on the beach. It was near perfect since there were hardly any families in the area they claimed.
They sat alone together in the sand, gazing out at the water and making small talk.
"Youre one of those people?" Dream frowned, sitting up. "Fate is what makes things happen, George."
"I dont believe in fate, Dream." He teased. Though a part of him knew his words to be true.
By the look on Dreams face, he knew as well. And god, did that bother him. He sat his glasses on top of his rest and frowned. "Who ruined something so beautiful for you?"
George shrugged as a reply. His voice rendered silent, and that was okay. Dream didnt need him to answer, he had a gut feeling it was a touchy subject and tied to their evergrowing complicated relationship.
Dream nudged his leg, offering a gentle smile. "One day, Davidson, Ill have you opening up to me."
"Thats too corny, even for me." George laughed out. His shoulders that were once tense, fell loosely with each giggle.
There he is, Dream thought to himself with a fond smile growing on his face. Theres the boy i met all those months ago.
"Do you really hate swimming?" He asked, looking at the sea.
George nodded in response. "I almost drowned when i was a kid, so i stay far away from oceans, lakes, pools, even baths."
"Hey lovebirds!" Sapnap called from behind them. He smiled, "Karl made cookies!"
Dream looked down at George, who still laid in the sand. He smiled, moving hair from his forehead. "Want a cookie?"
"Yeah," George smiled up at him. "Lets go."
The two walked together, brushing sand off each others arms and backs as they made their way back up to the house. Dream stopped at the door and ruffled Georges hair for a few good minutes, cleaning it of most the sand latching onto brown curls.
"Shower later." Dream instructed, laughing at the pile of sand on the back porch.
They walked into the kitchen together, the sweet smell hitting their noses.
George took a bite, not thinking anything of it. It was still warm, soft. Maybe a little undercooked, but thats okay.
"Youre amazing," Sapnap mumbled through a mouthful, smiling at Karl.
Karl beamed happily from his seat, "Thank you. I love baking."
"What kind are these?" Dream asked, looking over at him.
"Snicker doodle." Karl answered, taking a bite.
George dropped the cookie, and slowly stood. He held his hands together to avoid them shaking. "Can someone grab my bag?"
"For?" Sapnap asked, heading over to it.
"Im about to have an allergic reaction," George said slowly, "Dream, can you drive me to the hospital before my throat closes? Bring a straw just in case."
Dream had already grabbed his keys the moment George first spoke. He was quickly putting on his shoes, and grabbing Georges shaking hand.
"Dude," Q whispered from the door, "Youre really fucking pale."
