After dinner I drive Kendra and Blake home, which left Mathew and I alone. I glanced over at him with the light of the sunset, his eyes were closed.

"I want you to marry me." Mathew broke silence after a while.

"Did you just hear what you sai-" I was beginning to say.

"I'm going to die soon... I want to be married to a super hero before that." He interrupted.

I pulled over on the highway, sighing, "Mathew I love you, but is this what you want?"

Nodding he pulled out a ring, "I spent my college savings on it."

Crying, I slipped the finger on my hand.

Young and married, but young and dying.

I drove home and brought Matt inside with me.

"Mathew do you understand what this will do to her? Emotionally?" I explained to my dad what happened, and he and Mathew were having a man to man conversation.

"I might not remember our first kiss, first date, first anything... But I want to spend my last adventures with your daughter."

I tiptoed into my room and waited for Mathew to come, it took him a while but he did.

As he came in, he nodded, which meant I was going to marry this boy. We sat together in silence.

"Have we... umm." Mathew stuttered over his words.

"Have we done it?" I questioned.

"Have we?"

"No, not yet. We agreed we wanted to be a special first time." I smiled and stared at the carpet. He pulled me to him and put his hand against my cheeks, leaning his face into mine. The millisecond before our kiss he whispered "why not now."

He gently lays me on my back and kisses me on my nose. This moment was special, it was sacred, it was our first time.
