Pancakes & Dodgy Microwaves

"Morning." I yawned, walking into the kitchen to see Emily already awake and making breakfast. She turned around briefly, giving me a quick smile as I stretched whilst walking over to her.

It had been around 2 weeks since I had asked Emily to be my girlfriend. And things were going great.

I stood behind her and wrapped my arms around her waist as she poured the pancake mixture into the frying pan. She giggled slightly before attempting to push me off. I didn't move, I just buried my head into her neck, kissing it slightly.

"Luke, I'm trying to make you breakfast here. You're distracting me." She laughed, nudging me hard in the ribs so I would actually move this time.

"Ouch. You're mean." I pouted, stepping away from her and rubbing where it hurt.

"Aw I'm sorry Lukey, do you want me to kiss it better?" She laughed again.

"Yes." I nodded, lifting up my tshirt and pointing to the now red mark.

"You're annoying." She teased, whacking my hand so I would let go of my T-shirt, making it fall back over my stomach.

"And I'm hungry. Where's the pancakes at?" I smiled widely at her, sitting down at the breakfast bar in the middle of the kitchen.

"Be patient. And whilst you wait, do something useful, like melt this butter." She replied, shoving some towards me.

"Fine," I sighed standing up, "but I'm doing it in the microwave because I'm too lazy to do it in the pan and it's quicker."

"Okay, just don't burn it."

I wasn't really paying attention when melting the butter. I was too busy staring at Emily's ass that was slightly moving to the beat of the music that was quietly playing in the background.

Damn I'm horny today.

All of a sudden, the microwave door flung open and hit me on the arm as I was standing next to it.

That was strange. Microwave doors aren't supposed to open by themselves or stop halfway through cooking something.

I peered inside the microwave and realised I left the metal spoon in.
"Shit." I mumbled, reaching in and grabbing it out.

"Lucas, I swear to god, if you've burnt that butter I'm going-"

"Relax, babe, I haven't. Don't worry." I reassured her, shutting the microwave door.

I glanced at where the countdown of the time usually was on the microwave and noticed that instead of numbers there was letters.

LAP to be exact.

"Emily. Come here. Hurry." I said quickly. She walked over looking worried and I pointed at the tiny screen.

"What am I looking at?" She asked confused. I looked back at the microwave and noticed the letters had gone and the numbers had reappeared.

"Never mind." I mumbled and pressed start. I watched the light come on and the bowl spin around melting the butter in the process.

"Well okay then." Emily said, returning back to where she was before.

I continued to stare at the microwave, lost in thought. Maybe someone in this house was trying to protect me. Or maybe we just had a dodgy microwave. But who knows what could of happened if I left the spoon in there.
