Sid was waiting at the stables. The poor boy had to sleep there to await their return. The horses they used were from his stable. They would go the rest of the way by foot except when they got to the castle. Captain Kaden had to take Tivo to the Barracks, but he sneaked them into the castle.

It was only a matter of time before Tivo was declared missing. He was the Queen's champion, but he was still locked up in a cage or left to train with the other boys. Cora, Zachary and Turk went a separate route once they were inside the castle while Kaden took Tivo.

Thanks to her training, she could keep up with Turk and Zach. They still wore normal clothes, which helped them blend in at Ovalon, but now they were back in the City of Trevillia. Cora was dressed in a simple gown that reminded her of her old life with her family.

Cora wanted those days with her father and her brothers. She missed the evening at the field and had little worries. The days she spent reading alone were her best, but now things were different. Cora also thought of Rue. The wolf did not come to her; she must have gone somewhere else. Rue was her spirit guardian, but she still wanted her as a pet.

Unfortunately, this was the least of her problems. Her father wasn't the man she thought he was, and it was a shame they had to find out after he died. The most pressing issue was her brother, Damiel. He was still a child barely ten years old, and he was alone. Cora pushed back the tears in her eyes and climbed through the stairs of the back door to their residents.

It was a door mostly used by the servants. They couldn't be seen going in and out of the house, so they used this entrance.

Devka opened the door for them, her face full of worry.

"My prince, my lady, I was afraid you wouldn't make it," she cried.

Prince Zachary gave her a reassuring smile and pulled Cora inside. She was silent throughout their trip here. He knew she had a lot to think about after everything she learned about her family, but he was worried. They did not get any sleep and she would have to report for work at the royal library in a few hours.

"Devka, you should prepare a bath for Cora," he says, but Cora walks out, heading for her sleeping chambers.

"Did something happen to her, your majesty?" Devka asked.

The prince did not reply. It was not his place to say. Cora had once asked for her freedom, but after what happened today, she would never be able to go home.

"Please take good care of her," he says and turns to Turk.

"Sire, I can track them down," Turk says, kneeling as Devka rushes to Cora's aid.

The prince paced around, considering the option. The King was just starting to rely on him. He needed Turk by his side.

"You've only met him once. How would you recognise him?" he asked.

Turk got up and pulled the prince's shoulder. He understood he was anxious and worried about Cora, but he had to make a decision soon.

"Have I ever forgotten a face?" he asked the prince.

Zach stared into his eyes. He knew that Turk hated slavers more than anything. His uncle had tried to sell off his sister when he was younger.

"No, but what about other things you have to take care of?"

"It'll take a few days. I will track them down and come back to you,"

The prince wanted to believe him, but Turk was the only one he could trust to protect him in the castle. He had the captain now, but he was still a soldier in his father's army.
