Nakakatuwang pinapasok naman ako ng guard nung sinabi kong bago lang akong empleyado. Sabi ni Mom, kailangan daw ako dito bago mag-alas 10 ng umaga. It was already 9:45 am when I got here. The registrar asked me to go to the 5th floor to check which department I would be working with. 

Pumasok ako ng elevator kasabay ng ilang empleyado. Kanina ko pa napapansin ang tingin sa akin ng mga tao sa loob ng elevator. Marahil ay nagtataka silang makakita ng bagong mukha sa loob ng kanilang kompanya.

Tumigil ang elevator sa 5th floor at sumabay ako sa paglabas ng ibang empleyado. Sinusundan ko lang sila mula sa likod dahil hindi ko naman alam kung saan ako pupunta. Nahihiya din akong magtanong dahil wala akong kakilala.

Tumigil sila sa teller machine at napaawang ang aking labi nung makitang kailangan ng I.D para makapasok sa loob. At dahil bago lang ako, ay wala ako non. Naglibot ako ng tingin pero wala ring guards sa paligid. Limang minuto na ang nakalipas at nandito pa din ako. Pakiramdam ko'y maiiyak na ako nung biglang may nagsalita.

"Do you want to just stand there 'till the end of your shift?" A cold voice from behind broke the silence. 

Marahan akong tumingin sa likod at nagulat nang makita kung sino ang nagsalita. It's Carlos. Nakapasa rin pala siya kagabi. Huminga ako nang maluwag nung mapansing may suot siyang I.D.

"I'm shocked to see you here, Carlos! Buti nakapasa ka rin at may kilala na ako." Maligayang bati ko habang papunta kami sa Finance Department.

"Makakapasa talaga ako, sa gwapo kong 'to. Takot lang nila kung di nila ako tanggapin." He proudly mumbled.

Napairap nalang ako sa hangin, dahil kagaya kahapon, mahangin na naman si Carlos. Nakakapagtaka na wala kaming kasama pero alam niya kung saan kami pupunta. Maraming pasikot-sikot ang bawat pasilyo kaya mas lalo akong namangha.

We reached a huge office, and Carlos swiped his card beside the sliding door, and it automatically opened. A lot of employees are busy in front of their computers, some are talking on their telephones, and others are chit-chatting with their co-workers.

"Announcement everyone! These are Mr. Acosta and Mr. Ateniano. They were newly hired yesterday. Welcome to Rossett's Holdings Corporation! Mr. Acosta will be here in our department while Mr. Ateniano needs to go on the 50th floor. " The man in a pair of brown suits announced it.

 

Mukhang magkahiwalay kami ni Carlos dahil dito siya magta-trabaho habang sa 50th floor naman daw ako pupunta. After that announcement, all of the employees happily greeted us. Some of them even shook our hands. 

Mr. Santillan, the one who made the announcement, gave me my I.D. before I walked towards the elevator. The lace of my I.D is different from theirs. Mine is pink, while Carlos and the other employees are silver.

I was the only one inside the elevator, and it took me five minutes or more before the elevator stopped at the 50th floor. Unlike the other floors, this one looks empty aside from the big sliding door at the center.

 

When I entered the office, I noticed big bookcases on the walls and different trophies. I checked the pictures hanging there and I saw that this company is achieving such accomplishments not only here in the country but also in the U.S. and other southern countries.
