as soon as juliet got the confirmation text from jack she rushed outside.
she hopped down her front steps in her heels and made her way towards jacks car. he hoped into his matte black g wagon.
"hey jack" she sang as she got into her seat, leaning over the center console giving jack a kiss on the cheek.
"hey baby girl, you ready?"
"yep, where are we going anyway?"
"that's a surprise"
juliet got excited and more comfortable in her seat and jack started driving away
"why do you live this far up in the hills anyway?" jack asked looking over.
"i like hills, the mountains are beautiful and it's actually kinda quiet up here sometimes. which is hard to find in la"
jack nodded and turned up the radio. it was his own song 2STYLISH.
juliet looked over him and playfully turned it down "ugh i hate this guys music"
jack tried to act shocked and hung his mouth open.
"i'm kidding!" juliet giggled reassuring him.
jack and juliet spent the rest of the ride joking around and listening to his music.
eventually jack pulled up to a little sushi spot in malibu.
"how did you know i love this place!" juliet exclaimed grabbing jacks arm.
he chuckled "you mentioned something about it last week"
juliet beamed, feeling special that he had remembered such a small detail she had told him.
jack got out of the car and opened her door for her. holding out a hand for her and squeezing it tightly.
he lead her into the restaurant that was completely empty besides a few staff members.
"i hope you don't think it's too over to too for me to rent this place out for you." jack said
"are you kidding? this is so nice of you" juliet said squeezing his arm and kissing her shoulder.
the host led them to their table in the middle of the restaurant.
"i'm serious jack this is so cool of you to do this. usually wherever i go there's always people staring, wanting a picture. and don't get me wrong i owe a lot to the people who support me but it's nice to go out in public and have a break every once in a while. but i'm sure you get it too"
"yeah that makes total sense, i feel that forreal. but i'm sure i don't have to deal with it as much as you. but you seem to handle it so well"
"yeah i mean i guess it's easier when that's all you've ever know. and my parents are used to it too so they helped me juggle it all"
the server came over to take their orders and jack and juliet made sure to thank them for doing this all for them.
"so tell me about yourself juliet" jack said while he started on his sushi.
juliet started giggling really hard. "what do you mean? what is there to know everything about my life is on the internet"
jack looked at her seriously "no that shit. not that who were you seen with last night or where you went on vacation last month. i want to know who you really are"
those words really hit her hard. not a lot of people really cared to know juliet like that. most people in la just wanted to get a picture with her to gain followers or spend time with her so they could tell the social media "tea" pages what she was doing. she didn't really let a lot of people in only people like montero, doja, alexa, and tay.
"well there's a lot there so i don't even know where to start hm.." juliet thought about it for a minute.
"well the first movie my dad ever showed me was psycho because he insisted i grow up on the classics. i'm not sure why he thought it was a good idea to show a 6 year old a horror movie but it's funny to look back on now" juliet chuckled. "my favorite flowers are lilacs because my grandma use to grow them in her garden back in France. my middle name is love because that's the only english word my french grandparents can say. and when my mom was pregnant with me her parents would talk to me through the womb and that's the only word they would say to me. i'm absolutely terrified of gorillas, i don't care about spiders or heights. gorillas freak me out and i don't know why"
that got a chuckle out of jack. he started so deeply into her eyes when she talked it was like her was staring into her soul.
"ok well that's enough of me for right now i want to hear about the REAL jack harlow" she said poking at his chest.
"ok ok" he held his hands up in defeat.
"so as you probably know i grew up in kentucky. kentucky is life my happy place it's reminds me of a simpler time when i was just discovering who i was and what my music was. i played soccer in high school and if i may say i was actually pretty good. my mom is an artist, not like songs but like paintings and shit. and even though i don't paint like my mom she was a huge influence for my music. she showed me how creative you can be when you really allow yourself to fall into your craft." jack said sitting back looking like he was reminiscing on his childhood.
juliet was so entranced by him. jack had a way of talking that was so intoxicating to juliet and his smile made her feel like she was gonna melt.
after eating another piece of her sushi, juliet looked up and said "hey jack can i tell you something?"
"shoot"
"i really appreciate you renting this place out for just the two of us but it kinda doesn't matter when i'm with you." she went on to explain further. "i don't know what it is but every time i'm with you it feels like it's just the two of us. like no one else is there staring at me or asking for a picture or asking me if some stupid rumor is true"
jack grabbed her hand from across the table and kissed it gently. "love i don't think you know how much that means to me. all i want to do is make you feel comfortable, make the REAL you feel seen. non of that superficial shit."
juliet grabbed with face and their lips connected. it was slow and gentle at first before becoming more passionate and hungry for each other. when they finally pulled away they just stared at each other until jacks lips curled into a smile. juliet giggled and playfully pushed him away before jack pulled her back towards him and planted a sloppy kiss on her cheek.
"thank you for this jack. like seriously i didn't know how much i needed this"
jack kissed her forehead and they headed out of the restaurant hand in hand.
