a week had gone by and juliet had yet to talk to her parents and they didn't feel the need to reach out either.
juliet felt betrayed by her parents. she had always lived in their shadow, under their names and their reputations. it was rare juliet did something that truly felt like it was just hers. her relationship with jack being one of them.
in the past when they tried to interfere with her and jacks relationship, juliet immediately put them in their place and let them know that her relationship was her business.
tonight was the premiere for brooks newest movie and juliet had no intention of showing up. brooks assistant reached out to her all week to ask her about when she would be arriving, if she would be bringing jack, etc. and juliet dodged all the texts and calls.
she was genuinely mad at her parents to do this. juliet had never missed one of brooks premieres, even when they weren't getting along she always ended up going. but not today.
juliet instead spent the night going out to dinner with jack. he was what truly mattered to her and juliet wanted to make that known.
