5 hours later they had landed.
luckily juliet and jack had been able to sleep on the flight.
a town car was waiting for them as they stepped off the plane.
jack had his hand on juliets thigh trying to comfort her as she texted her mom.

in the car on the way to the hospital

ok love
dad still isn't awake
about to talk to his doctors soon
eventually the two made it to the hospital and were escorted up to brooks' room.
"mommy!" juliet yelled running over to her mom and embracing her.
she felt like a little child right now. the world felt scary and unknown.
"hi lovie" coco said kissing her cheek.
"hi coco" jack said quietly hugging coco.
"juliet i forgot to tell you with everything g happening but i called your grandparents last night. the hoped on the first flight from paris to new york. they should be here in a few hours hopefully."
juliet nodded her head.
"you can see him" coco said to the two.
"do you want me to come in?" jack said looking over at juliet.
"yes, please" juliet said grabbing his hand.
the three of them slowly entered brooks room as one of his nurses left.
brooks was laying in his bed sleeping.
for such an intimidating man he looked so innocent and defenseless way in the bed surrounded by wires and machines.
juliet sat on the chair next to her dad and grabbed his hand and held on tight.
"i'm here now daddy. don't worry i dont know who strong your heart is right now but i'll be strong for you and for mommy." she started tearing up looking at his peaceful face. "i love you so much daddy."
she sat there with him for a moment as they room fell silent except for the beeping of his machines.
after a few minutes his doctor came in and coco and juliet left the room while jack went over to sit with brooks.
"you must be juliet?" the doctor asked once they were out in the hallway.
"yes" juliet confirmed.
"i get that you guys are probably going through a lot right now but i just wanted to update you on brooks condition."
juliet held her breath as the doctor continued.
"so we have confirmed that brooks did suffer a heart attack yesterday. luckily it was only a mild heart attack. we don't think that he will suffer any long term effects. but he does need to remember to rest and continue to take good care of himself to avoid any complications ."
"so what does this mean?" coco asked.
"we want to keep him here for a couple days for a little bit more observation. but then he is able to go home. he should take it easy and rest the next couple of weeks. but he should be completely fine within 2-3 weeks"
"so he's gonna be fine?" juliet asked.
"yes he should be his normal self in no time" the doctor reassured them.
they both let out a sigh of relief and re entered the room.
jack immediately got up so coco could return to brooks side.
