9 years earlier to the beginning of the story.
Road to 20 Ingram St.
Queens, New York.

Without awareness of the road or the rain, the car gushed over the wet highway, lights on full beam. Little Peter watched yellowed fadings of the sunset playing in the droplets, showing the deluge, the flood from the sky, in apparently solitary drops. Peter changed his attention to the changing scenery of the new city; so this will be his home for the time his parents were on their business in the outside world.

It felt so alien for his little heart to move in with his uncle and aunt, whom he had last seen not once in his life of 5 years, yet no doubt when time comes to go, he'll feel a wrench to leave. His parents had been doing their trips from the time he knew them. They were scientist, and had to do lot of tours in search of things which they referred as 'place for dedicated work.' Peter looked at his father in the front seat, driving the car. He used to be tensed half the time Peter saw him, but today he was even more. He kept looking back at Peter, smiling as to assure that they will be back soon. Peter's mother sat beside him, holding his hands, constantly watcing her wrist watch, which seemed to remind her about the narowing time she had got to spend with her child.

On the other hand Peter was calm, flaunting a bitter-small smile everytime he watched the wind of the new city draw in closer to them. He hadn't seen his Uncle or Aunt, andhaf his tensiom was for knowing what kind of people they were going to be to him, while his parents stayed away. The car washed passed a alley with wet whistling sound of the leaves gushing like faint sweet music inside the car. Peter saw outside, he could see a city, slowly dotting with people and houses along the street. It was all so new, so unfamiliar, excpet for the 'September song' that had been playing in the car in low tune throughout the journey. It was Peter's favourite, especially due to the radio evening he used to spend with his dad when he cane back from a long journey. The car screeched around a corner turning into a rather narrow alley, but appearing wide with the brilliant criss-cross of streetlights. They were here, his new home. Peter turned inside, his father smiling at him, as he tried to hide his tear behind his spectales.

"I will be fine dad." Peter asserted, replying with equal amount of smile across his face.

"Yeah. Yeah, you will be. I-i know." Peter's father nodded as they drove past a circle into a row of houses.

The car paced down as it took another round, before halting in front of a house, much smaller than Peter's original home, yet attractive.

"Here we are!" Peter's dad grunted, his voice shaking as he opened the car door.

Peter watched him go round the vehicle, before opening the door for his mother and then for him.

"Ready?" He asked Peter, a weak smile revealing his mental tension.

"Yes" squeaked Peter as his father picked him up before walking through the gate into the house.

'Humble Abode, 20 Ingram Street' Peter read the pate that hung over the gate, glistening with raindrops that had just washed it wet.

The doorbell was rung, and Peter whom his father held to his shoulder saw a man not-so-different from his father walk his way towards the door.

The door was opened, as they were invited inside and Peter was placed on a chair. He saw his father introduce him to the man, who Peter had just learned was his Uncle.

"Hieee, young boy!" His uncle welcomed, as he playfully brushed Peter's hair.

"Hie" spoke Peter, amlost inaudible as he tried to take in the new environment of the home. It was nothing like the home he used to know. No charts or graphs pinned against the wall, no jars and beaker shelves, no files or desks with laptops and hourglasses. Nothing. It was a simple, authentic home, which Peter had no idea could exist.
