Peter's classroom,
MidTown Highschool
New York.

Peter dallied through the library. The last day's event still driving a good spirit in his mind. He wasn't expecting anyone today, to appreciate him like they did yesterday after his speech. It was just for a moment yestedrady cause all the people who seemed too overwhelmed with his talk the last morning, gave Peter glances of disgust today. Back into their original forms...

Peter snapped his book shut and cupped his chin with his open palm, his elbow on the desk. With a dreamy sigh, he began to recall Mary's expression when she had heard her speak yesterday.

He wished he was as cool as the boys, he read about in his library books. Even the girls in here, were so well described, that they often made Peter wonder, if the authors had taken inspirations from Mary.

Peter knew it was silly of him to love girls from fictional stories. But for a person like him, there was nothing better than falling in love with a fictional female and imagining that the boy she was falling in love with, would be him. If Peter could, he would have had barter his soul for a chance to be that superb guy in the books and love a girl like Mary.

"Oh, well."

Smiling faintly, Peter looked at the cover of the book he was reading. It was typical highschool romance novel, featuring a girl who was basically a girl falling in love with a guy whom she bullied. The male protagonist in this book was just Peter's type. Boring, bookworm, sensitive and weak. The female protagonist was nothing like Mary, Peter would remind himslef, but she did had one thing common with her, that was- both the girls being a college-sensation. And whenever, the girl from the book appeared in a scene, Peter would deliberately compare her with Mary, and blush idiotically.

Heck, if someone had noticed that, they'd probably think Peter was insane.

This is what daydreams are for, to be anything but sane, realistic and pessimistic. It should be against daydreaming laws for someone to be negative. And Peter was far from being negative when he daydreamed. Since, it were the only incidents, when he got to imagine himself as that worthy guy who can make a girl melt.

"Did you hear what happened last night?"

Peter jerked his head up, the worry in the overheard voice cutting through his thoughts. His classmates were huddled together in the middle of the library, all of them absorbed in a low-voiced discussion. Peter tilted his head towards them and began to eavesdrop, for what he heard was surely the voice of Mary Jane.

"I heard he kissed the senior from the second floor classroom."

"Who?"

"India Williams, a senior."

"They had been dating, right? Flash kept talking about her to me."

Peter wasn't surprised for he knew, Flash and Mary were quiet good friends, and neither did it surprised when he heard that Flash had kissed a senior. 'That's exactly his kind, bad boy...' Peter murmured inside his head.

"Oh Mary, you never told us Flash used to talk about his girlfriend to you--"

"What's there to share in that?"

"Oh sorry, we thought Flash and you had some romance between you"

Peter heard the girls giggle, as he began to internally curse the girl who spoke about Flash and Mary.
