Since Dean had recently turned eighteen and would no doubt be exposed to the supernatural world soon. Sam had finally gotten permission from Michael to go down to earth and find his vessel.

"Don't be nervous little brother, all you have to do is talk to your vessel and ask to be let in," Michael explained. Sam didn't like being called little; all of his brothers and sisters referred to him that way since he was one of the youngest angels. Even if he looked fully grown like his siblings, in angel years he was considered a child still.

"I know I have to find Jared and ask for permission," Sam answered. "And I'm not little anymore Michael," he continued. "Besides this is bigger than me just finding a vessel, I have to protect Dean," he kept going.

"Spoken like a true Guardian angel, just remember that you can't force your vessel to say yes, it must be of his own free will," Michael reminded him. Sam nodded and flew up towards earth, his vessel Jared was an actor so Sam had a hard time finding him when he was alone. His presence made lights go out and other electrics started flickering out. Glass also started shattering once Sam began speaking; he hadn't expected that and wondered if there was an easier way to do this.

"What in the world?" Jared asked, covering his ears and ducking for cover. He had a lot of questions, one of which was why in the world were his ears ringing so much? Sam realized quickly that he had to be careful or he would scare Jared off. He was a devoted man and had actually prayed for this to happen.

"I suppose I've had worse reactions," Sam whispered though Jared still heard it.

"Who said that?" He asked.

"Don't be alarmed," Sam said toward Jared as a light shone into the room. It took all of Jared's willpower not to get scared. "My name is Sam, I need your help, I'm a guardian angel and I can't find my charge until I have a vessel," he continued "but only if you let me in," Jared thought he was seeing things so he answered the only way he knew how to.

"Sure naturally could you do me a favor there Sam and remind me to schedule an appointment with a psychiatrist," Jared said. Sam told his vessel that this wasn't a hallucination and that he wasn't crazy.

"I can assure you that you are in the right state of mind, I don't want to scare you I only want your help," Sam explained.

"If this is real which it's probably not because I think I'm dreaming, why me?" Jared asked. While he was a religious man it was hard to believe that an actual angel was talking to him and that he wasn't just seeing all this because he fell asleep.

"It is a complicated explanation so all I can say is that I need you so that I may protect someone," Sam responded. When Jared asked who it was since he wanted to know more Sam said that he couldn't say. "I can't say as that might jeopardize his safety but I can say that he has gone through so much and needs help," he continued.

"What will happen if I say yes?" Jared asked. "Will my family be okay? Am I going to be okay?" he continued.

"Your family will be safe and you will be okay," Sam answered. "Trust me,"

"I do trust you and my answer is yes," Jared responded. He wasn't sure what having an angel would be like but he wanted to help this person Sam kept mentioning, obviously he meant a lot to Sam. There was a bright light and Jared had to cover his eyes to avoid going blind from it. After the light died down, Jared's eyes glowed a light blue color showing that Sam had already entered his body.

"Thank you Jared," Sam said through Jared's lips and disappeared to search for his charge. He had stumbled across his charge drinking at a bar, unsure about how Dean had gotten there, Sam entered but made sure to show his ID to the bartender, the bartender nodded and went back behind the counter where Dean was busy downing an alcoholic beverage.

"Hey," said Sam, causing Dean to look over at the man, somehow he had felt strangely comforted at his sight. "What are you doing here?"

"Oh you know," Dean said. "Just drinking, thinking about everything wrong with my damn life,"

"Why do you think something is wrong with your life?" Sam questioned. Dean narrowed his eyes, why would he tell a complete stranger what he feels?

"I'm sorry, but why would I tell you? I don't even know you," Dean said downing the last of his martini.

"My bad, I'm Sam," said the angel as he held out his hand.

"Dean," Dean responded and shook Sam's hand.
