While Dean was in the bathroom, Sam had argued with Castiel long enough for Sam to go and cool off. It was probably a bad idea to do that but what other choice did he have. Angels never lost their temper and acting that way was not how he was taught to act. While he stayed away to calm himself down, he heard something coming from behind him. Upon instinct, Sam summoned his angel blade and turned to find a stranger approaching him. Only something seemed off, there was a wave of negativity that was coming from the individual and he did not want to think about what it was.

"Hello Sam," the stranger said.

"Do we know each other?" Sam questioned.

"In a sense we do," the stranger approached Sam at the same time his eyes flashed black. Without saying anything else, the stranger attacked Sam causing Sam to dodge and defend himself. His eyes glowed blue as he forced the demon to stand down, his enemy made a horrible choking sound as he felt himself being pulled from his vessel. Just seconds before Sam could smite the demon a second demon came up behind and stabbed him with an angel blade. The attack wasn't fatal but it managed to catch Sam off guard and he dropped his weapon.

"That was too easy, " said the first demon as the second demon kicked Sam onto his knees. "Why can't you angels stay where you are and avoid getting in our way?" The second demon placed the angel blade against Sam's neck. "All we want is Dean Winchester and you are in the way,"

"Leave him alone," Sam said, he avoided trying to move since he could feel the cool blade against his neck. "He doesn't belong to you, I will do everything in my power to stop you,"

"We'll see about that," responded the first demon in one swift strike. The angel blade cut Sam on the throat causing his grace to come out. The second demon had a small vial in his hand and Sam's grace was trapped inside.

"You won't be so powerful without this," the demon spat out as he pushed Sam over like he was nothing. Sam tried to stand up and fight but he couldn't do anything much to his horror. "Aww not so easy without your powers, is it Sammy?" The demon mocked as Sam tried unsuccessfully to use his powers. He didn't understand what had happened. He was in pain, the wound left behind by the first demon was beginning to hurt.

"What in the world did you do to me?" Sam demanded to know as he held his hand against his stomach in pain. One of the demons held up a small vial showing that Sam's grace was in it. However, before they could even say anything one of them was shot down by Castiel. To Sam's surprise, the demon glowed orange like the sun before dropping dead. After watching his companion the second demon fled like the coward he was taking the vial with him.

"I've had it with these freaking demons!" Castiel exclaimed. Sam asked him how he killed one of them since he knew no mortal weapon could kill a demon. "I used the colt but never mind where is my brother and how are you bleeding?" Castiel asked. To his knowledge angels couldn't bleed, but it seemed like Sam was bleeding out. Despite his dislike of Sam, Castiel knew that had to help him.

"Sammy, are you okay?!" Dean exclaimed, appearing out of nowhere and rushing to his angel's side. Castiel asked where he had been but Dean ignored him, only concerned as to why Sam was literally bleeding and how that man he saw had disappeared on him.

"I am alright but the demons did something and now I can't heal myself," Sam explained. None of his brothers had ever taught him what to do when he wasn't capable of healing himself, it also seemed like none of his other powers were working which meant only one thing. The demons must have taken his grace away which meant that not only was he powerless but human. This was bad, how was he supposed to protect his charge if he didn't have his grace? He started to panic but that was crushed by the pain on his side. "Sam what did the demons do to you?" Dean asked.

"I don't know how but they took my grace away, it's what makes me an angel," Sam explained.

"Wow you're just a real bundle of help aren't you?" Castiel asked sarcastically. If Sam didn't have his powers what use could he be to them? Dean gave his brother a glare as Sam looked hurt by Castiel's words.

"He is and I don't care if you don't like him, he's still coming with us," Dean stated as he helped Sam stand up.

"Dean, he's only going to bring the demons towards us!" Castiel argued. This was more than just his dislike of Sam, he was worried that he would lose Dean to the demons since Sam couldn't protect him anymore.

"Cass I am not a child anymore, and he's my angel so whether you like it or not I'm going to help him," Dean answered. "If you plan to protect me then you will just have to come along," he continued. Castiel sighed heavily but knew it would be fruitless to argue with Dean, he was stubborn as a mule. Once he had his mind set on something no one could change his mind no matter how hard they tried. After watching Sam tell Dean that his condition wasn't worth arguing, Castiel spoke up willing to at least give Sam a chance.

"Nonsense feathers, we need you at full strength so I'm going to stitch you up," Castiel said, reaching into his bag and grabbing a needle, a thread, and a bottle of whiskey. "Might want to bite down on something this is going to hurt," he continued, placing a rag in Sam's mouth. He was right as the process of getting stitched up was very painful, Sam had felt pain before but nothing like this. He didn't like this feeling of being fragile and how he could break at any moment, he turned his head so that he wouldn't have to watch Castiel work.

"Is he going to be okay?" Dean asked. He never imagined that he would have to watch someone get stitched up but man was it painful to watch, what was worse was that Castiel kept messing up because Sam kept moving and complaining. Which was making the whole process take a lot longer.

"Don't worry Dean I'll be fine, it's just a scratch," Sam responded but to even to his own ears that answer sounded lame. But he couldn't let his charge worry about him right now, they had demons to stop. He could worry about his grace after they finished this and Dean was safe from the clutches of B, even if he was no mortal Sam had to put Dean first. "Ow that hurts," he commented.

"I told you it was going to," Castiel responded. After what seemed like hours, Castiel had finally finished and both Sam and Dean were relieved that the procedure was over. "There we go, that should do it," Castiel said, placing his items back into his car. "We should go now. We lost a lot of time by stopping,"
